Can I still really not change my Team Name or Abbreviation once I set it?

Can I still really not change my Team Name or Abbreviation once I set it without deleting my team and losing my players? This is the craziest thing. Other EA sports games have allowed name changes...

Unfortunately, HUT names and abbreviations cannot be edited.

Thank you for your reply. Can you explain why this is different in NHL than virtually every other EA game? The only reason I can think of is that the company just doesn't care about this part of the customer experience and that doesn't feel great so hoping for a different reason if there is one?
