For your issue with shooting the puck, are you using the Skill Stick controls? You might possibly be accidentally reverse hitting. That happens when you click down on the right stick. I was doing this very frequently myself as the controls changed this year. It's possible that's what you're doing. If that's the case, you could switch to Hybrid or Total Control. You can also go into your console's controller settings and remap the controls. This was my own personal resolution for this so I could keep using the Skill Stick controls.
