Cap compliance at start of Franchise

Is there a special reason why a Franchise Mode start at the beginning of the pre-season? It make sense from a "play games"-perspective, but when the game does it's own math with teams that are not cap compliant, it becomes a terrible mess.

I'm taking some examples here of how bad some things get. Nothing new about this, but it is very frustrating when you have to go in and edit salaries to the best of your ability to make sure the game does not do this. Even worse right now when the editing of salaries is slower than ever. I heard that it took someone 5 minutes to edit Zegras salary from 0,925m to 5,75m. I thought it was an exaggeration, but to my horror it wasn't that far off. That is a question that remains... why can't we just write the salary instead of holding a button for 4-5 minutes?

Anyway, the salary examples:

Arizona (below cap):

Clayton Keller should make 7,150,000$ for 5 years, but instead makes 7,710,000$ (+560,000$ each year)

Calgary (slightly over cap):

Jonathan Huberdeau make 10,500,000$ for 8 years, but instead makes 10,400,000$ (-100,000$ each year)

Colorado (over cap):

Nathan MacKinnon should make 12,600,000$ for 8 years, but instead makes 11,690,000$ (-910,000$ each year)

Cale Makar should make 9,000,000$ for 4 years, but instead makes 8,330,000$ (-670,000$ each year)

Los Angeles (over cap):

Drew Doughty should make 11,000,000$ for 4 years, but instead makes 10,735,000$ (-265,000$ each year)

Minnesota (slightly over cap):

Kirill Kaprizov should make 9,000,000$ for 3 years, but instead makes 8,835,000$ (-165,000$ each year)

Ottawa (slightly over cap):
Tim Stützle should make 8,350,000$ for 8 years, but instead makes 8,165,000$ (-185,000$ each year)

Toronto (over cap):

Morgan Rielly should make 7,500,000$ for 7 years, but instead makes 6,840,000$ (-660,000$ each year)

Vancouver (slightly over cap):

J.T. Miller should make 8,000,000$ for 7 years, but instead makes 7,875,000$ (-125,000$ each year)

Vegas (over cap):

Mark Stone should make 9,500,000$ for 4 years, but instead makes 9,045,000$ (-455,000$ each year)

Washington (over cap):

Alex Ovechkin should make 9,500,000$ for 3 years, but instead makes 9,260,000$ (-240,000$ each year)

And these players are of course just the tip of each teams iceberg, because every contract on the team is effected (by a percentage up or down, depending on what is needed), except extensions that begin next season.

Wouldn't it be better if we (at least have the ability to) join the franchise in time to make the team cap compliant before the season starts, rather than end up in this mess where 1/3 of the teams get either punished for being under the cap or rewarded for being over it. In some of these cases it will effect the franchise for 7-8 years, to various degrees.

I much rather just play than write this, but it really takes a lot of joy out of it and adds extra work before the game is ready to be played. 😞

I don't expect the cap compliance part to be fixed now, but please, speed up the contract editing? 😇
