Changes to the Reverse Hit / Fake Shot (R3)

I'm kind of dumbfounded that this hasn't been addressed at this point. Is the overly sensitive R3 just not going to be addressed this year? I get that it doesn't impact everyone, but for some of us there's no amount of focus that can really stop us from doing it. It ruins the game for me - There are so many situations where instead of taking a shot, I'm hitting air.

A little bit of communication from someone at EA would be great. I still enjoy this game, faults and all, but if this isn't going to be addressed that would be nice to know.

Kinda sad, total control have an edge over skill stick with all the one touch, particularly due to hip check and the michigan. Right there it make the game uneven to some degree so obviously I tried using it too...but even when only hiting reverse hit by mistake once a game only, it's still one too many times, I just can't...I switched back to skill stick especially because of R3 alone. You know that if something wrong happens with skill stick, it's all on you, not from accidental push on a stick..

The team is aware of this. Hopefully, we'll be seeing changes. It drives me crazy. Half the time I stick handle to the right it happens.

  • For anyone who wants to use Total Control and not have Reverse hit on R3 and not have to wait for a patch or whatever, I THINK all of the consoles now let you re-map your buttons in the accessibility settings. When I'm playing NHL I swap R3 and left on the D-pad. But, to be honest, I don't know what left even does since I only play EASHL, so if it makes some strategies change when you click R3 now, I guess it's not a perfect work-around.

Sure I can't reverse hit, but it didn't seem like a good option this year, compared to years past when most people didn't even know about it, and most people are hip-checking this year anyway, which I don't think a reverse hit can do anything about (correct me if I'm wrong). Ah, you also can't really chop the puck without playing with a "claw grip"... So I guess it's not perfect... But I'd rather sacrifice that then accidentally lose the puck on a breakaway.

Yeah thought about it too but like you said by doing so you're removing the chop too. As someone who play 80% of the time on defense, I can't go on without the chop...so it's a no no for me.
And changing your xbox controls setting between nhl and the other games all the time quickly become annoying.
