Community ManagerIt's fine to ask that here. No worries. The best location option was removed while we investigate the long wait times for drop-ins people have been experiencing. So, that's contributing to the ping issues currently. As far as setting a custom ping goes, I don't have any details on that. I know it would be great for getting matches with a better ping, but at the same, it's going to mean a far smaller pool for matchmaking which will introduce longer wait times. We'll just have to wait and see what happens in the future.
@EA_Aljo I'm pretty sure anyone that doesn't live in QC would more than happily wait 3+ minutes for a match than play against server disadvantage. The nature of this game relies so heavily on ping that it's near impossible to beat worse players with faster connection. I understand P2P has issues so a "within 5 ping" option is a fantastic idea.
- @mobyjoness Thanks for that feedback I agree. My idea of a +/- 5ms ping search is something that anyone over 25ms ping would happily use. Those with good ping could continue doing quick searches and those with bad ping could wait as long as they want to find someone with similar ping. I hope this happens someday.
