Offline players are certainly part of the community. Unfortunately, as we've already said, online is getting a bigger focus right now. There are plans for updates to offline modes over the next few years.

Thanks Aljo !
I’ll now return to my dark OFFLINE corner where I’ll stay quiet and wait another 2 maybe 3 years… 😞

I also asked multiple times that EA treat’s online and offline separately when they deploy a gameplay patch… Every time, it spells disaster when the wanna fix online cheese, glitch goals, goalies and whatnot to please the HUT packs buyers or the YT influencers….. To guys that make sliders and rosters it’s a living nightmare…
- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero+@PernellKarl027 For the most part you don't want to create different gameplay feelings as you want people to feel they can jump around easily between modes.
If they do the franchise right the offline and online versions will be much of the same. So don't worry. Madden has a pretty decent Franchise Mode that is pretty cool.

This is where we are not seeing eye to eye Follisimo… For me Hockey is Hockey, no matter the modes. For me it’s supposed to look and play like the real thing. When I tell you that I can’t play 5 minutes on the EA "Simulation" sliders because it’s really not for me…
So for me, playing ONLINE with the aforementioned and dedicated settings is a big NO NO. If this the direction EA is going in the future with everyone online with the same settings, they will lose a customer that bought the game since NHL91 and I know for sure that I’m not alone. - Froommey2 years agoSeasoned Ace
@KlariskraysNHLPersonaly will stay with offline Franchise, not very interested and don't want to play vs not known people online. Another reason ist that I don't want to plan my time to play online games. I have other priorities what I await from a good hockey game.
- 20Portugal042 years agoNew Veteran@PernellKarl027 I agree with my man here 100% as an offline player myself, I do not want to play online at all, and if EA wants to make all changes in the game with the exhaust engine graphics and the new spot light goal( which I don't mind) at least give all options to the players to toggle and off.

I think the big difference between Madden and NHL is that Madden is built for offline and then adjusted for online, where NHL is the opposite. Some of the biggest problems with offline modes both on and off the ice are due to the AI programming which wouldn’t be fixed by moving the modes online.
The offline modes are also in need of some major work and if most of the focus is getting it online in 3 years and then working on the nuisances of the mode, the offline community is in for a long haul before things actually start to look up.
Add in the fact that the majority of offline players are trying to create a true sim experience and the direction of the game is clearly going towards a more arcade style of game as it seems to be the preference of the online community.
There seems to be optimism from the game changers about the offline modes and I will definitely take their word for it as it’s all we have right now. I also have no issues with the game being created to please the majority of its players, but you can see where there might be some initial skepticism. - KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero+@PernellKarl027 I am saying the general idea is you want them the same across the board gameplay wise because of the average user. Someone that doesn't know hockey would feel quite weird going from different modes with gameplay being totally different from the defaults for the most part.
When you create an online franchise you can still edit sliders and all that jazz if it's your league you are running and have people in. - Froommey2 years agoSeasoned Ace
Another thing why I don't want to play online is the camera angle. I like to play in broadcast mode, sorry but the classic mode for me looks a bit like ping pong hockey.

Have you ever tried Action Camera on Player Lock (auto zoom) ? Best immersive REAL hockey experience in my opinion 😀
I strongly suggest this way of playing in my SETUP, and I’ve turned around a bunch of guys that swore by other camera angles 😉
- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero+
@Froommey I've having trouble understanding your excuse when it's in the options menu. I mean it's ok to just say you don't want to use the inferior camera angle when it comes to playing online.
I of course prefer the zone camera so I can see the whole ice and read my opponents.
- Froommey2 years agoSeasoned Ace@PernellKarl027 Yes tried, looks also great. Classic cam in offline mode used until two years ago and found out that in other camera angles the game with own sliders looks so much better and more like a hockey game. I know your sliders too. Great work buddy ! By the way, what you are doing for offline mode is amazing. We offline gamers need more guys like you :-)
- Froommey2 years agoSeasoned Ace
@KlariskraysNHLIt makes only sense if both playing online the same camera angle. Other camera angles are by far more difficult to play online as the classic cam, so it would'nt be fair. Same meaning as PK too, also no sense too to play with EA sliders online. Want to play a hockey game which looks as close as possible, therefore EA sliders in my opinion aren't good enough.

That’s awesome my friend ! Thanks for the nice words 👍😀 Me and a couple of guys from OS, (GetThePuckOut, phillyfan23 and zevon__99) are working as we speak on something even better… We all think that this will change the game for a long, long time…You can stay tuned or if you would like to join the group, let me know by PM… I see that you and I share the same views on the game 😉
- Froommey2 years agoSeasoned Ace@PernellKarl027 I know you and the other guys from OP Sports :-) I guess you know me too, but under another nickname ;-) I am there since many years, roster, face scan thread ;-)

If you are, who I think you are, this community definitely needs more people like you also !!! But when I say this community, take it with a grain of salt, because apparently we are not "sexy" to EA…
Peace ✌️
- Froommey2 years agoSeasoned Ace@PernellKarl027 Not only this, but real faces, rosters, player headshot pics is a part of it. Much more things about this seven years in this forum, especialy about franchise mode. All of my suggestions they ignored during this time. So mostly tired and without energy to post so often as I did in past. I do not believe in any master plan they have for offline modes the next three years. Hey devs, please give me a new roster for 23 and I will stay with !!!
I know how you feel regarding the offline stuff unfortunately 😒
But, that being said, updated rosters are available on all consoles for 23. Not from EA, but lots of guys are doing them.
We also have a Taylor made roster for PS5 and next Gen XBox with all the recent trades and stuff… On mine on the X, you also have different skating styles for some players, cause we are planning on playing 23 for a long, long time by the looks of all of this 😀
- Froommey2 years agoSeasoned Ace@PernellKarl027 yes, sure I do myself for 23. You can see it in OP sports. My roster is nearly up do date, excluding the draft picks from 23 of course. The thing is this that I do not want to play with this mass of black silhouettes. If we would have the possibility to upload headshot pics for our cap's yes that would bring it to another level for me. Second are the missing face scans compared to 24.

First thanks for the great summary of this messy stuff that EA want to sell.
I do absolutely agree with you. It is a good idea to think about to stay with 23.
What I have seen so far from the playtests, EA will fully go arcady with these disco boards, horrible player indicator, x-factor stuff, pressure meter, goal celebrations. Last year they took out full presentation and now even worse, they start implement bad stuff for the offline community. Ok, that's their decision and strategy. I will take my decision and wait and see how it develops. Will EA at least provide an option to turn off this mess on the ice?Another concern of myself is that they will not add many new face scans. If they will just add about 10 new real faces I will stay with 23. Why should I buy a game that is worse than the previous one? And I am sure there will be fine rosters out there for 23 including all recent trades. The game is not released yet and I just see people ranting even already now before release. And I do not see threads here in the forum of people who are happy with 24 (except on Youtube of the influencers and game changers or whatever they are called. So this should actually be a clear message to the responsibles of EA that something is going totally wrong here with this game.
- Froommey2 years agoSeasoned Ace
@darkryd3rAbsolutely agree with your point of view. Wise to wait some weeks after the release and to prove some feedback. Myself bought NHL 22 and 23 in used market after around a month from the release. Full presentation back of course a big must. Without the game is looking emotionless and stiff. If they don't add something special in franchise mode too, I will do the same way this year as the last two years. No care for offline modes means, no worth to give money from my pocket.
- KlariskraysNHL2 years agoHero+@darkryd3r People who are OK are less likely to respond is a reason why. If I get some food from a place and it's great I'm less likely to leave feedback, but if my experience is bad then of course I'm gonna throw a fit. If it's justified they usually do something special for you.
Also these forums don't even represent a measly 1% of the playerbase. This is just a place to come complain and nothing more. Can't wait for when the discord launches and they have to deal with you all. Lots of bans in the future. - 2 years ago

We are gonna get banned if we voice our opinions ? Follisimo, it’s really OK if YOU like the direction this game is taking. We don’t necessarily have to be in the same boat.
I know I voice my opinion when I see something I don’t like, but I also send KUDOS to EA when they do a good job. Just take my 1st post in this thread as an example….

@KlariskraysNHL you are totally right, most people just post negative feedback and the happy ones are quiet and enjoy the game. But 1% vs. 99%....we are the 300 spartans at the thermopyles😉
So no offense towards the forum moderators who have to deal with all this here. And also no offense towards the development crew. My "rant" is addressed to the strategic decision makers who seem to ruin the immersion of this game more and more. And there is no other Ice Hockey game on the market, no competition at all, we have no choice when it comes to play our favorite sport as a video game. But as said, I wait and see for the moment....and still not loosing hope😎
