Goalie controls

Where is Paddle Down?  R2 (hold) + X in previous years on PS.

Meanwhile Desperation Dives is mapped to two buttons.  R1 and Square.

If this was intentional I’d love to read their reasoning.  😆

If not, whomever is responsible for a huge obvious mistake should be immediately fired for incompetence.

The team removed paddle down because the focus was to polish and implement the new desperation poses and save animations.

Makes sense, imo. In the old games, I seemed to always just get beat by a high shot when I used paddle down, so I found it to be pointless since most 5-hole goals are from tips or wraps and not from skaters aiming 5-hole anyway.

If the team were to bring back an element of the old controls, I think t-pushes would be great. The problem with t-pushes in the old games was how clunky and slow the animation was, so no one ever used it - much like post hug is now. If the devs were to rework t-pushes to be less janky, I think that would be a great benefit to goalies when used correctly.

    Once again a stupid decision!

Desperation save doesn’t need to be mapped to TWO different buttons to do the SAME thing!  Meanwhile removing one common and well used ability.  SMFH!

Just on a side note on the goalie control topic. Under control settings for the goalie. I have control of the pressure and line changes. With Xbox I can use the D-Pad, but in reality this does not have any function. The D-Pad is dead, non-functional, worthless, does nothing, useless and Im assuming if you are playing forward or defense, these controls would work. So why not for the goalie?
