Well stated!
And I'd like to clarify in my previous post that I don't believe the onus for a constructive conversation to take place is on you to replace words like "glitch" or "broken" because those words have been used in the context of NHL in the exact way you used them. In fact, I believe those words can be found in almost all sports game communities so I definitely don't think it's necessarily on you. However, on these forums specifically, those words tend to illicit less than ideal responses and usually wind up leading to less than constructive conversations which is why it's best to steer clear of them to avoid future discussions about the definition of "broken" when we should be discussing your valid points/criticisms/complaints.
I'm with you on this. While personally I try to use more precise language when talking about issues with the game, not everybody has the same communication style and getting bogged down in semantics rather than dealing with the problem at hand doesn't help anyone. A clarifying statement about the preferred term can be helpful, but it shouldn't become the focus of the conversation or a springboard for people to dismiss legitimate problems. I think @EA_Aljo does a pretty good job of walking this line.
That said, there is a balancing act. Someone coming here just saying "The game is broken!" or "Feature X is broken" isn't being constructive. Providing examples, being clear about what isn't behaving correctly and why are still important.
I concur with you regarding trash talk towards the game, generated most probably out of frustration. And perhaps the word Broken is too aggressive a word when pointing out Problems with the game. Like I have stated in my previous post. The existing problems, which have been displayed numerous times on this platform, by other community members. Do not seem to warrant action, towards their remedy. I am not leveling my complaint against any individual here that has the job as liason between game and community. But my aim is at EA, for not staying with what they had in the past. A game that was dedicated to the community to which it's existence serves. But these latter versions have strayed away from that concept, and used the game as a lottery device, to obtain value over worth. And right now, the trend it is on ( in my opinion) is not worth the Worth! I appreciate the educated responses I have received back, as was stated earlier. Intelligent conversation is worthy of notice. Babble is but a nuisance.
@dogheelsThis is how I would go about a complaint about something "broken"
1.) State what you feel is broken. Be specific about it (show video if you can)
2.) Explain what you are experiencing.
3.) Explain how you would change the problem you are having. Really think it out not just from your perspective but also of the average gamer/player to the higher skilled.
Your suggestion as to how I should go about it, has been noted on various occasions by both myself as well as other members. Missed icing calls. Offside, where the opposing player is in my end of the rink, and after taking it out and bringing it back in over the blue line, the opposing player is able to handle the puck even though he did not vacate the zone. The problem I am encountering is. The repetitious request for proof, when proof has previously been sent. The lack of action and the failure to remedy are the reasons for complaints on this chat forum. I do realize that you and who ever else is responsible for addressing these issues, are hog tied regarding being able to fix them. However. It would be appreciative to know that EA is doing something about this, rather than the community seeing the same problems year over year. I appreciate you mapping out the appropriate steps that should be taken. And I have! But here I am reposting again, with the same droll comments. ( those being my comments ).
