Had enough!

  1. From AI generated offside. Interference calls, and goals called back for taking an extra shot at the goalie. Game just is no longer enjoyable. Packs WAY OVER PRICED. Content of packs abysmal. The having to win by 5 goals. 5% tax for sales (lol). And problems that have existed to for years. Never fixed. Icing calls not made. Offside not detected. The bias shown between online and offline players in the ability to attain objectives and rewards. I could finish this by saying. Hope next year's copy of this broken game will be better. But that hasn't happened year after year. EA has gotten away from the original concept of this game. To make it enjoyable and inclusive for all. Regardless skill level. Online/offline. And have replaced it with the concept of making as much $ as they can. This msg will probably get me banned. But it's my last year from 94 till now.

    • @bobimill   There is no way in any universe that I would pay cash to buy packs in this game. The prices are insane. The end result. No matter what mode you play in. Online/offline. The game is slowly getting worse year by year. It' seems to be structured on cash flow, rather than enhancing game play. Minor details in the game, such as. Missed icing calls. Terrible interference interpretation by the AI, and players battling a loose puck in front of the goalie, resulting in goal called back. These have not been adequately adjusted or fixed in several years now. And like I said. Minor problems. But they ignore them, and strive more on deletion of certain elements in the game, such as decreasing the value of gold players from 900-1000 to 750-800. Dropping daily objectives from 5 to 3, making it longer to obtain milestone objectives. These are but a couple, but they show the true intent of the game. $ over commitment.

took a little too long on the wind-up. The puck continued to move outside of the shooting animation radius, so when the user went to push forward on the shot - the context had already changed to "non-possession" actions, so the body check played out.

It would be more realistic to have the shot animation play out resulting in a wildly inaccurate shot - or even better - a possible high-stick penalty with the opponent being so close in proximity.

@KidShowtime1867 The wind up and miss isn't the issue (mind you I'm not sure how far a puck will move on its own after being set).

It's the well known and documented penalty that comes after, due the game thinking there is a need to throw a body check instead of an actual shot through as you stated, I could take a high stick, even a double minor compared to interference.

The game doesn't 'think' you want to throw a body check. There is a sudden change in context that went unnoticed by the puck carrier (the puck gliding out of the player's control radius) and the player already made up their mind they wanted to slap shot it and did not have the twitch skill available to notice the puck exited the control radius and to not follow through on the shot, which triggers a body check.

I'd like to see the body check mechanic removed from the shooting mechanic, which would resolve many issues IMO.

Guys it’s really as simple as this: the game is a clunky mess. Both the menus and the gameplay. ‘Broken’ might not be the word, but this game is in no way a proud portrayal of the sport I love. It’s a zippy, clunky, micro-transactional, glitchy mess. Play MLB the Show for ten minutes and you’ll be in awe over what a proper portrayal looks like.

@KidShowtime1867Yes, it could be that it doesn't think I need to throw the body check but while I'm still in the normal shooting follow through with the joystick, the puck is out of the radius and now the opposing player is now within the hit box radius for a check. It's where it can't determine between a shot follow through and a check, so it seems to default on the check.

I'd like to see that as well so it would remove this issue but id guess that is harder to be done seeing it's so focused on skill stick controls.

@Cote12 I have actually been playing a ton more MLB over the past 2 years due to my passion being diminished by the recent NHL game releases. Those games offer so much more offline and online and function effortlessly.

I think it's cause they don't seem to restart a game from scratch every few years/ removing or altering the game and more or less just building on what foundation is already there.

Agree. The Show is definitely more aligned too actual gameplay. And! The game itself is more generated to the community, with their rewards and free stuff. They don't try to bilk those playing the game, like NHL 24 does.
