An auto fight should only occur if a player is injured on the hit. A teammate will step up to defend them. I'm not a fan of them either, but wanted to give some context on why they're occurring.
That is helpful, thanks...however, it's only a small patt of the issue...auto scrums randomly stop the action too, and result in coincidentals when its clearly the AI instigating.
I'd like to see all that done away with, especially the auto fighting...even when someone is injured...i should also still have to agree to fight, right?

Yeah, I don't see the problem with the option to fight, but how many real world players would turn that down?

The problem is that it completely and often quite abruptly stops play, and it's specifically a problem when your on the rush and suddenly snapped back to an auto fight or forced scrum bc of a hit you threw seconds ago, or a friendly AI hit. I've lost many odd man rushes and breakaways like this, and its bs.
At the very least they could tune it down a few notches...as this happens to me multiple times per game consistently..therefore, I am essentially being punished for landing good hits.
Also, the instigator penalty really does need to be added.

Yeah, I get how it interrupts play. How often is that happening though? It's always been a pretty rare occurrence. Frustrating at the time, but it's over quick and play starts up again. You may lose a scoring chance, but I imagine more chances will follow.
I'll pass on your feedback about the instigator penalty.

Half the league would.
Saw it twice just last night. Clean hit, somebody wanted to fight and the other player was all, "Why would I fight after a clean hit? Go take a penalty and put us on the powerplay, thanks."
