Community ManagerAn auto fight should only occur if a player is injured on the hit. A teammate will step up to defend them. I'm not a fan of them either, but wanted to give some context on why they're occurring.
Even if the majority of teams will fight on injured teammates, it doesn't mean that all the players should drop the puck. Players can still continue to skate with the puck and stop if there is a fight that has been accepted.
Whenever that happens, I don't have a choice to accept the fight to not get a turnover that will lead to a high chance of scoring for my opponent.
Even in real life, the teammates don't always go for a fight. They continue the play. Usually, from what I notice, the automatic fight is when there is a dirty hit.
