@sirajs wrote:@phomi99I had no problem with hits even after patch. Depends how you hitting, if you just pressing buttons i understand hits was not working for you. But if you will wait for right time, in front of player, you should always hit. But if you count that you will only clcik on button no matter in what position you are, yes you will not hit him. Imagine situation what happens before this patch was released. Two players skate side by side, one player hit button and in that speed, he kill player with puck, but its so unrealiastic. But undertand, its easiest way to defend, only with clicking buttons and dont need to think, if its right time to hit him..
The issue is this new "hitting mechanic" it's been a giant fail. There shouldn't be a slow down or speed up in hitting now you hurt players who play online with 30-60 pings going up against 5 pings in Montreal.
It's a cheesy animation to watch in game when we miss a hit. What players throw their hands like that when delivering a hit.

What an utter shambles.
Why change it back without giving it a proper chance. It was much better without the hitting acceleration.
Find it odd that it would be changed back so quickly, I don't think we are getting the full story here.
Its like the blind leading the blind 🤦

There was a very high amount of negativity from the change. It's possible there could be further adjustments in the future.

@EA_Aljo It's only a small minority that buy the game that post their grievances online. A high percentage of those who do will be kids.
This game has a cult following going back many decades, most of which are older gamers that don't use this board,, stream their games live or want to be famous on YouTube.
There was nothing wrong with the changes made previously. If anything it improved the gameplay and looked more like the real game.
Kids these days just want everything handed to them on a plate. They don't want to take the time to learn. Happy to have what should be a skill move all at the click of a button or if things are too difficult the toys come out the pram.
If the game keeps going the way it is you guys are going to lose that core following that have financed the game for decades.

There was nothing to give a chance for though. It was pretty damn evident that it killed hitting completely when the average hits were 4 a game in a 20min match. My Eric Daze and Tom Wilson were untouchable.
- 2 years ago@phomi99 That's not entirely a hitting issue.
You shouldn't expect to knock down a Tom Wilson with regularity but you should still be able to impede his progress with the puck.
The real issue is that players are able to move unimpeded while maintaining puck control regardless of what you throw at them.
I don't care how big or strong you are, if you get hit there's a good chance you are being separated from the puck.
It's a body check. You are checking (as in disrupting) the progress of the body in order to dislodge the puck.
A stick check is checking the progress of the puck itself in order to dislodge it from the player.
When neither of those things works as intended, it creates a situation where we have to "make up" ways to generate those outcomes (like super powered checking).
Checking CAN work the way it was modified, but that also means modifying how easy it is for the puck carrier to maintain/regain possession.
The best players in the game still have to pass, deke, and deceive in order to progress with the puck. There's a reason individual efforts are highlight reels. It's because it is incredibly difficult to simply carry the puck straight to the net while shrugging off body contact and sticks.
Not in this game.
