Just from experience I know left trigger does not stop it from happening. I believe it's 100% the new hitting system making it happen. The entire right stick seems off to me. Idk
the game has a ready-made solution that just needs to be done. LB + RS down - get ready for one-timer. If the throw is automatic after preparation, this will solve the problem. Nobody needs a manual throw.
In addition, you can do LB + RS up - stop and prepare to redirect

A manual 1t is great and all but most of the time this happens you aren't sitting around for an expected 1t. Youre in the crease trying to smash in the loose puck but you hit the defenseman behind you. Like I stated for myself I have noticed that I still try to shove players even when using vision control and manual 1Ts should not have to be the "answer" if you are trying to shoot a pass you see coming across as you want to get a quick shot off because that leaves no room for a manual one. Just last night I took a penalty beause I was coming across the slot to fire a shot but because the puck got poked loose before the game registered my shot I ended up hitting someone instead. Manual 1t isn't going to fix that situation either.
