Honest Opinion after trying out NHL 24
First and foremost, I did not buy the game it is on PS Plus if you have a subscription.
I have been playing NHL games for as long as I can remember and I have played them consistently, my favorite being NHL 06 and 07.
When I jumped into the menus of NHL 24, I am greeted by the same menu design than NHL 23 but with a darker font which in my opinion is not the worst but not the best either. The music is god awful but to each their own, I'm not a fan of it but some people might so whatever.
The creation suite is the same as 20, 21, 22, 23 but somehow manage to be even more confusing. How am I supposed to know which is the Home and Alternate jersey? Well at least it's a bit faster than they others so I guess it's fine.
The gameplay... It's not good. I have 10 hours on NHL 23 and got pretty bored of the "goals every 1 minute" aspect of the game and I was disappointed to see that it didn't change at all for NHL 24. Defemce is non-existant, goalies are unable to stop a beachball and the amount of ways to exploit this game in the offensive zone is endless. Mind you, in a 5 minutes period, I was up 17 to 4 against the CPU, I thought I was playing NBA . Gameplay wise, NHL 24 is the worst Hockey game that I have ever played in my entire life.
Be a Pro is the same since NHL 21 and I have decided to just not touch it to be completely honest.
Franchise. I am a guy that has to play every game and the gameplay makes it impossible for me to play this game mode. The mode was relatively barely touched by the dev team anyway so, why bother ?
As an offline player, this game is a very bad game.
I am going to be perfectly honest here: "Content creators" have ruined this game and the gaming industry as a whole. The Devs would rather plaease these creators instead of letting their own creativity make the game.
Even without buying the game, I feel like I have been violated mentally and scammed. I know the Devs will probably not care about what I feel about this game but at least, I am hoping that somehow they will have enough proud in them to try and make at the very least a decent game.
