Changed to Jordan? Not that I know of. It was still the same "Lucky Buck" when I logged in yesterday early afternoon.
Isn't that the name that is auto-applied when creating a character?
@LuckyBuckNakedUnfortunately, there's really nothing you or anyone else can do. Appealing a sanction to EA is just yelling into the void. You'll just have to serve out the time and move on. If you find me someone who's sanction was reversed on appeal it will be the first I've ever seen.
EA appears to give the people who review reported content a lot of leeway in regards of what is considered inappropriate. This is both good and bad. On the upside, it allows them to not be strictly beholden to a set of words or phrases that could be skirted or gamed. On the downside, you're at the mercy of the mores and knowledge of whoever happens to review your particular case.
Edit: I don't expect the in-game checks to catch every phrase or misspelled word, but if there is a hard list of unacceptable words that is one part of the assessment process for a content report I would think that EA should work to include that list in the in-game check.

@PlayoffError Yeah, my only fear is that I suddenly lose the ability to play with my friends without having some sort of explanation not in the form of an auto-response or being given a chance to fix whatever the issue is. @EA_Aljo has been a help, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that I may be the first.
Why not provide a list of "banned words" on their help site or something? They can even add a "Are you sure you're 18?" checkbox to protect the youth. To leave the decision up to some unknown entity whose personal bias impacts how they review things seems like a recipe for inconsistency and confusion.

You wouldn't be the first. I've had many of these reports in the past from people with names they shouldn't have been actioned for and have had them overturned. I'm definitely not going to guarantee anything though.

I’ve now got a chance to review, and all my player details are still the same.
First Name: Lucky
Last Name: Buck
Play by Play Name: Buck
I even jumped in on a Quickplay game and it is still showing “Lucky Buck”. Or at least that is what I see on my end.

If possible, it would be good to know if other players are seeing this. As I mentioned, we're aware that you and your club will still see the original name you were actioned for. Also, are you able to edit your name?
I was able to edit the name and didn't seem to have any issues. I have no issue if other players outside my club can see my name, I just want to have the sanction removed so this doesn't lead to a suspension or ban in the future.

I was able to confirm last night that I was able to update my player name without being blocked or any other issues. What should be my next steps?

Glad to hear it. For now, it would be good to change it to something else that isn't offensive. I'm still looking into this and will be in touch when I have some news.

Wait, I'm confused. Now "Lucky Buck" is offensive? I thought it was the "Naked" part that was supposedly causing the issue, and that is my Xbox Gamertag not my player name. Thank you for your continued help, but this is getting ridiculous.

That's what I'm looking into. I'm waiting to hear back. I'm just saying you should use a different name for now until this is resolved just to be safe. I don't see how Lucky Buck is offensive and you shouldn't be getting actioned for your gamertag.

Ok, I see what you are saying now. Thank you.

No problem!

@PlayoffError Well, looks like you were right. The void has spoken. Or not spoken, I guess.
- 2 years ago@LuckyBuckNaked Buck is one letter away from profane. "Lucky *uck" is a common saying using that word.
(I don't have an opinion on the censorship, but I can see why it might trigger an action.) - 2 years ago
Well, “Buck” is an option for audio play-by-play, so it would be silly to sanction the player name even if that was the case.
Also, just because someone interprets something as obscene, it may be just them projecting whatever dirty thoughts they are having and not the fault of the creator. It’s a part of my name, not some coding.

Welcome to 2024. People can choose to be offended by whatever they want. I don't agree with it and I encourage anyone to just try to be less 'edgy' about the name you pick for your player or your team to avoid any issues.
I'm not taking a side on this just providing advice.

@KidShowtime1867 Well they can choose to be offended by whatever they want, but it is the company and community that can choose not to acquiesce.
If I were to suddenly say, “he has ‘kid’ in his username. He must be making a reference to child exploitation!”, meanwhile you’re thinking “it’s a pro wrestling reference…” (or ironically that would be my actual guess).
If you go out the door with the intention of being offended, you’ll find something or bend yourself in a pretzel trying to force something into being so.
If this is that big an issue, just show generic names in quick play and only your player name to friends. That should solve this issue and then we won’t have to be having a problem with thought crime.
Play the game for an hour and you’ll see overtly racist names and players, and it won’t require ‘6 Degrees of Offensive Bacon’ to maybe-kinda-sorta explain why those are inappropriate. Seems like resources might be better applied. It’s a mixture of my highschool nickname and part of a real name, and they literally have it as a play-by-play name. In order for that to be edgy, it requires someone to already been on edge. If that’s the case, maybe a warm bath and less online gaming is required.

LOL I agree my friend.
