HUT is Pay to win
This game mode is so unbalanced and exploitable. IMO they is zero chance of players to fully enjoy this game unless spending $1000 is something you can afford. The fact you can buy your team is grea...

They also GRINDED like crazy to get those God Squads. Is it possible? Yes - if you devote 20+ hours each and every single week to the game. Not sure about you but I have a family, a job, hobbies, responsibilities and interests that aren't centered around NHL HUT. The influencers you are talking about are doing that because they are making their money by "influencing". I mean if you have time to play 38 Squad Battles, max out Rivals, play all champs games, complete all HUT moments/single player objectives, complete all the rush objectives.... you will have very little time for anything else but sure you will have an elite squad pretty much by default unless you are awful at the game. It's why people can't grind more than one game because it is pretty close to impossible without having others to step in for you or sacrificing social and/or family life.
The reality is that a lot of people grind for the easier stuff and then open their wallet to make up the difference. I would absolutely love to see the states of the amount of people who played HUT and the amount of people who opened up their wallet and bought packs.

HUT is a competitive mode.
You can compete by grinding or buying items to build your cards. I do a bit of each and find the diversity helps to enjoy the game more than a single style.
Everyone I'd recommend downloading a free play casino app. This game is very much a sports based version which is way more interactive.
At its core the mechanics of how it generates revenue is 100% similar.
This game in my opinion has transitioned from a game based on physics into a playable casino game
