Community ManagerThe first 2 videos are the same. You weren't in position for the interception.
In the 3rd video you were pretty close, but not quite there.
In the 4th video, the player you're controlling is not in position and the AI player is just a little out of reach.
None of these videos showed a problem with intercepting passes since your players weren't in good position to make one.

I would need to see more of the replay to underway they are are playing where they are. Normally, they will get out of position when the human controller player is out of position and the AI players are moving around to cover the open ice. They all look to be covering someone. The first 3 videos were all you not being in position, but you're letting your opponent have numbers on. Possibly due to a neutral zone turnover or playing too aggressive. What are your forecheck, offensive pressure and NZ strategies set to? You could still be using collapsing, but if these are set to be more aggressive, they're not going to be in good position to set up in time.

I'm not really seeing an issue with interceptions in those videos. On most of those passes, the defending player was wildly out of position. I absolutely agree that there's way too many passes going through defenders in the NHL games, but those videos aren't a good showcase of that issue.
@EA_AljoJust a few videos. Please get this game fixed before I get banned from these forums for arguing with kids who have no idea how to play proper hockey.

There's no such thing as too close for a pokecheck. You shouldn't have to know exactly how long your stick is when extended, to the inch, to be able to knock the puck loose from a guy that's literally skating through you and is actively colliding with you for about 3s. Trivial defensive play. Your idea of hitting a 93 speed forward in open ice is ridiculous.
Again you just blindly defend these mechanics because it favors poor players who have no concept of puck protection and team play. 🙄

In the first clip, it looks like there was a stick lift so the defender isn't able to intercept it.
For the second clip, as already mentioned, the defender is too close. A hit would have been better. What I personally would have done, and is something I do very frequently, is backskate further to increase the gap and then make the lateral move to intercept while using DSS to sweep the puck away while also trying to cut off the passing lane in case that's an option for them.
The third clip is the same as the first. Are you talking about the carrier trying to tuck it short side? The center goes in to DSS and completely misses the puck. They probably should have bodied up the carrier instead. I'm really not seeing where they skating through people. Please correct me if I'm missing something though.
i could probably send you 250 videos of players not intercepting easy passes and players walking through defenders, losing the puck 3x and getting it back everytime. Stop messing around the game

Good position or not , doesn't matter ...
I've had my two way defense , with gold puck intercept , not even flinch and the puck was 2 inches off his stick.
You're simply relying on calculations and game mechanics .
If you block it with your D stick, you have to let the game animate the stick back to the body before you can retrieve a puck.
So ea just wants you to go durrrp mode and hope the game works in your favor ...
Just another way ea kills a skill gap.
- @Dixonyu To be fair, knowing that you should face the passer and have your stick-blade lined up with the passing lane and NOT press poke-check is a skill in and of itself. It's not like performing actions is the only skill required to be good at video games. You also have to know when NOT to do things (just like in real life).
