This is in free skate, I get poked by the goalie at the moment I try to shoot and lose the puck before trying to body check instead of shoot the loose puck right in front of me. This was figured out along time ago with the introduction of skill stick well over a decade ago. How is hitting ever a priority in the offensive zone while the puck is neutral in these situations? This is exactly how the interference penalties are playing out again since the patch. Hitting should only take priority in the offensive zone if the defenders actually have possession of the puck and are in close proximity to you with the puck. I have teammates hitting guys by accident trying to be ready for a pass 20-30 feet from where the puck even is while we have possession most of the time. I dunno if the idea is to try and punish players for being too trigger happy and wait for the pass and moment but it just plays out poorly. I have another hunch as to why this got messed up in the first place and that has to do with the hitting feature being needlessly changed for the worse while likely introducing this whole debacle as well.

Thank you for the clip showing this. I'll pass it on to the team. I agree, it's very frustrating.
Edit: We also need to see this happening in game and not in practice mode. If anyone has a clip, please send it over so we can reopen this investigation.
- BabyPuncher5252 years agoRising Vanguard@EA_Aljo We noticed a increase in interference calls for the puck carrier in game situations similar to what my clip shows except there are defenders nearby to be hit once the puck comes free. Can't say for sure the last patch had an adverse impact on this but the whole interference on rebounds and what my clip shows needs to be addressed. I think the hitting re work with right stick and the shove check may need another look, or when hitting takes priority on the right stick input. Any chance you can clarify what the intended design was with this? Should we be expecting hitting animations at all times in purely offensive scenarios or is something not working as intended currently?
