@Jammalammalam Yep! 2 steps forward, three steps back. I like a couple of changes they made but overall this seems to be yet another step back. They got rid of LT and helped mitigate puckragging.. but then every other change after that was awful.
The new edit player was supposed to SAVE TIME it is buggy, laggy, and extremely time consuming. Was this ever tested? By who?
The pressure system has teams throwing anything and EVERYTHING on net just to hope they get a rebound so they can do the same thing until the goalie can't move. I've never seen am NHL goalie act like this game feels they should act like. Beyond that, some of the saves they make when they're not tired is WILD. All of this was tested?
What games are you guys watching when NHL players lose half their speed because a meter on the ice fills up? This was tested?
The store... horrendous! Buggy, leggy, some teams like Chicago get 4-8 items nearly every day while other teams get nothing for days.. on top of all of that you still give bags for threes and placement stuff that we gotta go in and open to get coins.. I'm not sure how you could have found a worse way to do all of that..
Defense is probably the worst and least fun experience this game has ever created. You just get in the way of the play and hope you get an animation.. all we have to work with that works (but works FAR too well) is the hip check. While I'd love it to be nerfed it's the only consisten tool the defense has and I know if it's nerfed they're not gonna buff anything to help offset it.. so keep it, I guess? Passes in the slot are buffed and almost impossible to intercept, pokechecks sometimes go right through the puck, or have 0 power resulting in you slowing down and them regaining possesion and skating around you.. this was all tested? By who?
In the Air Force we get EPR's and OPR's they're performance reports.. the issue is many of them are fluff. See, at this point I don't think ANY of these developers care for the game and are just getting fluff for their performance reports. They are hoping another company gets them in. This game seems like a jumping off point and EA is just a big company you can say you worked for.
- created NHL in game team store; boosted community logins by >50%--made $x in micro transactions
- Overhauled physics engine; created X number of animations--ensured player contact when necessary
- Created NHL pressure system; changed meta game--boosted offensive output
You take these to another company and they sound great.. like you did a good job.. you just leave out all the bugs and how unhappy everyone is with most of these changes..
