Assists don't count towards teamplay. What does are things like penalties, icing, losing faceoffs and going offside. Also, if your team gets scored on while you're in the box, you'll take a bigger hit. If your teamplay grade drops to an F, you'll be kicked.
How can assists not count toward team play? That is literally team play lol
I don't think losing face-offs should count either, sometimes someone is just better than you, doesn't mean you're trolling.
That's what this whole 'kick for poor team play' was made to combat, trolls. They've taken it a bit too far and maybe lost the original vision.
I played 3 6v6 WoC games last night. There wasn't one person kicked for poor team play so if this is happening frequently, your play is probably worthy of the F grade. We'll keep an eye out for more reports though and will make sure that feedback gets sent over to the team.

@EA_Aljo Thanks for the reply.
I'm not going to lie and say I was playing a great game, but the only bad things I did were the 2 trips. Assists should 1000% be factored into the algorithm controlling team play. It's actually kind of ridiculous that they're not. On top of that, the calculation should take into account the length of time a person is holding onto the puck as well.
I played a 6v6 drop-in game yesterday with someone on the attack who just held onto the puck and skated multiple circles in the offensive zone, never passed to anyone and then finally took a shot. In that instance, we were awarded pressure time and, I'll bet anything, he was rewarded with some kind of increase in teamplay for taking a shot after seriously 15-20 seconds of puck hogging.
In all of 23 I was not kicked from a single game. Not one.
I take 2 bad penalties in my very first game in 24 and I'm booted. That seems extremely weird to me. Especially considering I'm constantly playing with defensemen that think they're forwards, left wings and left d that spend all their time on the right side and goalies that think it's funny to leave the crease and let tons of goals in. I can't remember a single time they've been kicked from the game. In fact, I'm usually the one that ends up leaving because the experience has already been ruined way before any teamplay check is going to boot them (if it does).
Kicking someone for making mistakes that are normal hockey plays should not be happening.

I just found out that you're not supposed to get kicked in club play. So, that would also be why I didn't see it. That said, there were very few penalties and everyone was generally playing their positions as they should be. I know that's not always the case in drop-ins. Regardless, it looks like there is an issue here. It's been reported to the team.
I'll keep an eye out for more reports on this. I know these mechanics have never been quite perfect so it would be good to see them balanced over time.

I have been playing this game with my buddy since forever and our in Second GAME on 10/5/2023 (second game in CHEL) my buddy was booted for poor performance after scoring 2 goals and having an assist - EXPLAIN THAT? and we receive a loss since there are only 2 of us
Never have been booted ever in the past since they introduced this never even knew it existedSOUNDS LIKE A BUG TO ME

As I said previously, this is being investigated. However, keep in mind that points do not contribute to your teamplay rating. You can find more on that here.

thank you one thing that we believe was the biggest factor if points do not count as teamplay was faceoffs - he missed a few faceoffs but the controller settings were wrong so maybe it is a little too sensitive but getting a loss when you are up 3-0 in a game is not right regardless of how you play on your own team

One of the people in my club had their controller die for like...idk...10 seconds. It booted him saying "you're standing around and not helping" lol
Take this out of the game. I'd rather have griefers tbh.

Disagree. I've definitely had a controller go out in a game, at least getting kicked for that makes sense. It's so easy to avoid. You get notifications about it, and if you're like me a USB cable is dangling from the front of your console, you just plug it in.

Here you go with this "oh youre playing the game wrong" bs. You can blow smoke all you want telling us "oh it didnt happen to me" yet ive played the game 3 seperate nights where 3 different players had multiple points and were playing a great game got kicked for 2 or 3 penalties. EA once again implemented a broken system and as usual can't take accountability. Its disgusting. Fix it.

This happened to us twice last night in 6v6 clubs.
i get it for a drop in game. But it’s just 3 friends playing together in our club… some games are tough but we win and lose as a team. I don’t see why kicking out friends playing together is necessary at all?
and how does goals and assists not count? But face offs do? There’s some people online who have have 80-90% on face offs no matter what you do. Penalties are inevitable and sometimes passes are errant and people are offside. So what?
we paid to play the game together online.
**** additional note no we don’t have the add drop in people enabled for goalie or skaters.

I never left the game had 3 goals two assists and called for one Pass that got intercepted in my club game and it kicked me. My wife and I were on a 16 game win streak and it's ruined by whatever this ridiculous rule is. Most are probably worthy if the kick. We weren't and its tye 4th time in 1 month something like this happened.
