Cdn/US $. You missed the point. It's about the greed that EA has implemented into the game. Instead of being more open and giving to the community. They concentrate more on the cash grab.

@MasterB89Anything you buy digital wise that has online elements is pretty much "rental" if the servers go down then it's dead weight. The biggest thing is they are giving you the chance to earn it (which I finished it in under 2hrs) or spend real money. I know you guys don't want to hear it but more and more companies gonna take ideas from mobile games with battlepasses becoming a normal and selling some things outright. I mean knowing what you are gonna get is better than random luck spending I would think. Obviously even at the price I do feel it's too high but if you play Apex Legends at all you will see they have been raising the price of their stuff going from $150 to get like an heirloom to now spending around $250+.

@dogheels It's becoming more and more of a norm among games these days.  Activision sold a melee weapon skin for $80usd which is more than buying the whole game would cost.  Also see above about Apex.  They be taking notes from mobile games and honestly the only way to combat these things is by not buying them and they either lower the prices or stop doing it.

Me personally I'm not a fan of this at all and I wouldn't waste my money on this type of stuff.  It's why I dabble in HUT and once it gets too hard to keep making the cool cards I just quit.

@KlariskraysNHLYes that is fully correct, or even buying a game digitally is a rental. Not all things are earned though, hence the operators and battle pass. Plus it's hard to compare a free to play game as well (prices are high cause people will pay it) this is the reason why we are here. If it didn't become so much of a staple in madden or NBA 2k, it wouldn't have be required for all sports games now. Also, equipment last year was earned in bags for online, now is subject to a rotating store like fortnite and you do earn some coins for it but also can require real world money. 

Seeing that NHL has a minimum $69 to $89 price tag just to play the game, then add on the season pass, one of the Halloween or cod operators, buying packs unless you get enough coin via playing the game to ice a 90+ overall team. Plus when it comes to packs they are random as well and the odds on getting a high end player is typically very low.

I don't touch those modes or any ones that are online. To me I don't see the appeal as you aren't really collecting anything tangible but I know some people love it and that is fine. Each to their own. 

@KlariskraysNHL. What 25 will have in store for us is. Pack odds increased from the ridiculous calculations they now have in place. Harder to obtain rewards. Rewards becoming less valuable. Increase in the cost of packs. Both coin and money wise. And the constant flooding of these new objectives. Making players have to acquire certain cards to get the reward for completion of the objective. I fully agree with all the texts that have replied here. They are in this now, not so much for the betterment of the game. But to garner as much cash flow as they possibly can. 

@KlariskraysNHL . I'm not disputing what you say as being anything but right. Having different perspectives added too the game is good. It's how they have now adjusted them, so that. Instead of playing with your original team. You now have too constantly add players of different venues in order to complete them. Thats why they have now added packs in order too obtain these players. And when certain individuals who don't have the coin to purchase. Will resort to handing out $ to obtain these packs. They do nothing without already mustering up ways too increase their cash flow. And since the vast majority of the community is below the advanced realm. Temptation becomes more prevalent in the need to improve.
