Also let's not ignore the fact that you can pin yourself to the boards when you have the puck which is absolutely the most ridiculous thing ever.

Pinning the board actually happens though. It's just that it happen only now and then for very specific circonstances like killing a few secondes during pks or in the last minutes of a game from the leading team when under pressure near by a board. Some guys will purposely hug the board and tuck the puck between their skates/stick and hold it for 10-15sec. It's kinda rare but surely not ridiculous.
But I get it that it was sometimes abused in the game to dodge hits and probably other things.

- @Tigidooh I'm not against it being in the game as it has real life application as well, but EA has clearly allowed blatant abuse of the tool. When it was first introduced if you went for a hit against somebody that pinned themselves to the board, it would auto initiate a pin so players couldn't cheese avoid getting hit. That feature is gone now, and they also made it wayyyyyy more difficult to pull the puck out of skates along the boards so everything favours the person with the puck on this play.
If a player glitches their stick through the boards. There are no options other than pressing them against the boards. If you poke check - tripping penalty. If you stick lift - slashing penalty. If you hit - boarding penalty.
The only viable option is to press your opponent into the boards and have your teammate(s) fish the puck out.
Except it is broken and doesn't work half the time.

Won't lie, I didnt remember it was an auto pin when going for a hit on someone hugging the board, if so, it's great and make no sense it was removed, wish it would be added back.
Most players can't use the pin board anymore on offense though, it's literally not there on total controls, so I guess that partially solve the problem for you. 😁
