I'd like to think I'd excel at it with how my team gels together but the vast majority of players would have an extremely difficult time if all one timers were fully manual to the point it'd be scrapped almost immediately.
I don't think there is any vision control in the offensive zone like before and people are already posting how they keep hitting instead of shooting
Right, so it's all good when defensive actions require precise timing and analog movement, but offensively there is no timing or precise movement required. This is why the game is Harlem Globetrotters on ice and doesn't resemble hockey at all. Automated contortionist no-look puck receptions, one button Michigans, skating into the boards full speed with the puck with no consequences, etc.
@Jagavekov
They made some really stupid decisions this year but I don't think hitting is one of them - Say what you want about the dedicated hipcheck button I've been begging for for years, but it's about time they made hitting a little more nuanced.
Offense and defense has always been imbalanced and pretty much nobody but the L2 abusers enjoy it; Defense requires you to be too perfect to pull off anything useful and you're further punished by horrid AI D/goalies

Having to use the analog sticks to protect the puck is hard but defensemen aiming hits and using DSS "balances" the game. I play Center when I can but pick "skater" if playing drops.. this game is doing an awful job with balance. Expected after hearing all the changes but it's pretty bad.
