Matchmaking with Controls choice

Controls Skill Stick vs. Total Control has to be chooseable.

Difference between both settings are to different.

Checks and Dekes are too „easy“ if you are playing with Total Control. With Skill stick you need more skills to do that. Of course it’s my choice to play with skill stick, but that’s how I play for several years and I say that’s okay for those who are more experienced with it.

I would not have a problem with those players, which are not so experienced, but total control is too easy. Hip Checks or Lacrosse Dekes aren’t played often with Skill Sticks as those aren’t really easy , so just like in real hockey too.

just let us choose this in the game settings, like game location, cross play, +/- player, drop-in player, goalie matchmaking

Finally that would be more fair and very easy to implement.

I hope a lot of players will support my recommendation

Matchmaking is already saturated to death. Adding a +/- player, goalie matchup and dedicated matchup to your controller setting would definitly kill any chances to get any games going on ever.

The idea in itself isnt bad but would only work out for games with HUGE community such as CoD and FIFA.
For NHL it would be a EASHL killer.
  • Canceling this bs total control would do it. Those guys who brought that to the game should be fired after being tarred and feathered, period.

    Okay, understand your opinion

But you have to agree that the balance between Skill Stick vs. Total control isn’t good.

I don’t want to play with Full Control as I don’t want to do Hip Checks all the time or do a Lacrosse Deke. Of course a Lacrosse goal is really cool, but how often happens this in Real Life? If EA would put this into the Arcade Mode Rush , that’s ok, but I would prefer and love real hockey.

real hockey is 10-15 checks a match and maybe 2-3 big checks, but now e.g. with the easy Hip Check keys, the opponents partly do nothing more than Hip Check’s, that’s annoying that every Hip Check works nearly. A small touch of it and the player is down.

Is this real or should I have to live with it as it’s just a game ?

Same thing, I understand your opinion too and I agree some things need to be changed/tuned more properly to make the controls more widely even, what ever the controls you chose to play with.

But making changes to the matchmaking isnt a good idea to be honest. It's already hard enough to get games depending on your location, making it more difficult to find teammates/opponents by adding nitpicky options won't do it.

There's a few concerns on the new controls and many of which are being called out. Hopefully they can make some fine-tuning so everyone can still play on near equal level.
