If there’s one thing I don’t do, it’s “cry” about anything in this game.
I like to think I make contributions by way of feedback, debate, etc that is for the betterment of this game.
I advocate for more responsibility on both sides of the puck. I urge people to spend time understanding the controls before coming here to insist everything is “broken” - including the new hitting mechanic.
its a massive fundamental change to the mechanic and I’m not surprised there is a vocal minority opposed to these changes. Many people just want to hit a button and be successful with no mind to the responsibilities in positio, speed, angle, etc
I’d rather play a hockey game that bestows responsibility on someone who just wants to lay big hits all day. I mean.. feel free to be a goon on the ice all you want - but master the tools required to be that dominant and learn the nuance before proclaiming it’s broken.

Everyone has a different definition of fun. The main point of a leisure activity like video games is to be spending time having fun. No matter how hard we try, we're not going to meet everyone's needs in this department. For me, the game is much more fun now with the reduction of the pressure system and hitting. I absolutely hated hitting in 23. Then we had the hip check issue which made me hate hitting in 24. Personally, I'm very happy with the change to hitting because I don't think it's fun to go up against teams that do nothing but hit.
People say they want a true hockey game that requires skill. Getting 50-60 hits a game is not a true representation of hockey. However, that is what is fun for some. So, we're not going to remove hitting completely which removes the fun for those players. What we've done is make it more skill based, which is a huge request from the community. They want skill to be the deciding factor in games. In my personal opinion though, the more we lean towards skill being a bigger factor, the more we get complaints from the hardcore community.
