@KidShowtime1867That's a fair thing to say, I guess, but you could also say that about the offensive side which requires way less responsibility. I have no dog in the D vs O argument (I only play versus lol), but I think it's pretty clear that playing offense has been favored in this game for a very long time.
One area where we could force offensive players to be more responsible is by taking away "auto saucer passes." There is no reason they should be in the game IMO their removal would allow for more creativity to prosper in this game. Saucer passes need an overhaul in general IMO.
@EA_AljoI get that argument and appreciate it but I don't think it applies to video games in an absolute way. The game already relies on a ton of "dice rolls" (for the lack of a better word) to run as it is. Every save a goalie makes on a far-side wrist shot is the result of a combination of player ratings and dice rolls, right?
Having a dice roll for "should this high-rated goalie let in an unscreened wrister from the point because it bounces off of the underside of his blocker" COULD be seen as "realistic" but I think, at the end of the day, it just ends up in the end-user being frustrated. I don't know who would argue for those types of goals being "fun" but I'm sure there are some of them out there.
