@Juhani_91_91I don't believe they have. They told many things all the years, most doesn't happen.

I think the biggest thing they have planned for the offline modes are to move them online.
It’s obviously the right decision, I just hope the base of the modes are getting some major improvements before then in order for it to always be functional offline. - kyl_353 years agoSeasoned Ace

@FroommeyI won't believe until I see, that they have done something concrete. @EA_Aljo said, when I sent direct message for him, that they have announced, there are long term plans for offline modes.Whatshisname, who said they didn’t put much focus on FM this year, said in the same interview that they have a three year plan.
If they do plan on REPLACING FM with GM Connected then I hope I can still play GM Connected as a single player. I have no desire to play NHL with anyone. It’s my live-in-my-own-mental-bubble escape.

Hello everyone,
I'm strictly an offline player and only play franchise mode, glad the post was made,
The only thing I can think of is online is we're the game can constantly make money, as a business EA is attached to online players, after the offline player makes the purchase of the game we no longer put money into it , so I can see we're the focus for a business aspect can be.
I have a friend of mine that I was with this weekend and his son plays wwe 2k but is manly an offline player to ,but still pays money every month for content for his offline features , so it got me thinking. Not sure if this is were EA will eventually go but it had me thinking will happen since it seems with how the presentation went from full in nhl 22 to almost 2 seconds worth in 23.
This is just me making an observation NHL 25 the months of October after full purchase of game is made
for $19.99 dlc 1 pair of new nhl goalie masks , 6 nhl actual music themes used in arena , 4 new goalie equipment for the new season , 5 new intro for x teams
November pack 5 additional music themes used in arenas , 10 new intros for other x teams , new cut scenes and interactions
New equipment
Another pack in December and another in January and that's it.
So maybe $60-80 with more stuff included of course
Maybe a season pass for $55 or something ? For the offline and online players
I dont know this I just my thoughts and maybe we're it might be going. As always thank you.

This really isn't so much about making more money off online players. The high majority of our playerbase is in online modes so it makes sense to prioritize those modes first. This doesn't mean that we don't care about offline players. It means updates for those modes was on hold this year so the online experience could be improved. Chances are good that focus shifts more to offline modes with online receiving less attention.. That's pure speculation currently since we haven't made any real announcements for anything past NHL 24.

I understand and much respect for you for always giving us the best answers that you possibly can , I know It can be tough at times. I think many offline players just want to know asap for NHL 24 if we can go back to what was in nhl 22 for presentation and all that stuff and what the deep dive for offline will feature for this year, I'm sure in due time maybe once a week until the release of NHL 24 we will find out, I'm excited about the changes, and looking forward to 24. thank you again for always helping and keeping us posted EA Aljo
- Froommey3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Juhani_91_91 yes I know their longtherm plans. They talk about since many, many years. Frustrating when they ask us offline players what we want. I posted so many things they could change in franchise mode to make this mode better over so many years. Not a single thing they have done.

Moving every offline game mode to online so there isn't any other option than move to online player? I have this strange feeling that is will be the long term plan...
Just pull the plug off already and don't leave us suffer here anymore and wishing for better tomorrow or should i say year?
I bought PS5 and i was excited that i can play NHL with new gen console and i also had high hopes for NHL 24 that there will be finally something new and big changes for offline... Well that all was taken away at that day when i heard that there isn't HYBRID CONTROLS because i cannot use any other controls... Well played EA!
And after that i heard and saw that EA hasn't done anything or as less it's possible for offline it was the closure for me at least EVEN hybrid controls would come back wich i wont believe regarding to NHL 23 and taking away the possibility to use full presentation AND changing the REAL true broadcast cameras... Those both was REALLY wanted back in NHL 23 and they never didn't... Just don't understand why that OPTION had to take away when there was so much people who wanted use full presentation but everyone was forced to use condeced...
So this year taking away the hybrid controls is same (but even bigger thing because all the people that has disabilities including me) to force everyone to use skill stick or whatever those new ones are... I hope that all this pressure coming from hybrid control users that has disability and zero possibility to use any other controls would make a difference for EA to really put them back but still... I wouldn't hold my breath on that...
- 20Portugal043 years agoNew Veteran@CLX90 I agree once anything is put into a game whether it's presentation, a specific control, etc, it shouldn't be taken out , there should always be an option for it to be on or off by the user, this way online/offline player have the options. Online guys as they say we press X, A so we can keep on going as quick as possible through the replays and all that , that's great you still can , while the offline line guys we can watch the great goal in full replay.

Is there any change at all to offline? Why I ask is I’ve read that offline creation has been tinkered with to make it easier and quicker to create players and teams. Which if true is good for those of us that create historical players and teams. I do feel the pain for those hoping for actual game modes to receive updates. Especially franchise mode or at least season mode. I too was hoping we could move into being able to have full control of these modes (control all teams etc).
- kyl_353 years agoSeasoned Ace@ozhockeyfan I’d be pretty happy with just about any creation zone improvements
- Juhani_91_913 years agoSeasoned Ace@kyl_35 At least creation zone for World of Chel is updated, but I hope, that they have also made some updates to normal creation zone. Updated location list would be nice add to the game.

Regarding HUT, please also consider integrating online co-op into Squad Battles. That would make the mode more enjoyable instead of having to do it through exhibition games and challenges when we want to just play together against the CPU. Thanks.
- kyl_353 years agoSeasoned Ace@Juhani_91_91 Yeah, lol. If it’s not the main creation zone that’s been improved then I don’t care.

You HAVE to admit that you just said the same thing as them just in a more "PR" way, right? The team prioritizes the online player base because that's where they make the most money. At the end of the day, it IS all about money. Making video games is a business. There's no chance that the modes that make less money will ever be given the main focus. Look at another EA property: Battlefield. The entire game's identity was shifted in order to sell more MTX (going to a "specialist" (hero) system as opposed to the generic soldier system that has been the franchise's bread and butter for decades).
EA has done a decent job to partition some of their attention towards making single-player games in recent years (the Jedi games, some EA originals, etc) but that's in spite of the money they make from FUT/HUT/MUT.
- KlariskraysNHL3 years agoHero+
@NeonSkyline21I don't see offline becoming the main focus either, but I do see them piggybacking off say Online Franchise Mode they seemed interested in doing. So you might see offline getting some love in the form of presentation. Will it be the presentation that people want? Only time will tell.
This is how I see the priority.
Gameplay > HUT > Whatever needs to be attended to and juggled every couple of years.
Since the HUT community seems upset modes weren't changed and such I am expecting them to get some changes of life for NHL 25. I do think Online Franchise is being worked along with presentation for that. It probably won't make it in time for the next game but more than likely after.

Even if online modes had no way to spend money, they'd still be more popular than offline. Which is why I'm saying that it's more about the modes that are most popular rather the money they generate. There are more online players not spending anything extra than the ones that do. I'm all for offline games. I'm enjoying the heck outta Starfield. I played a ton of RDR2, Fallen Order, I'm loving Jedi Survivor, I've played single player and offline games all my life.
When it comes to competition though, online is where it's at for me and many others. Look at the shift if gaming over the last 15 - 20 years. It's very heavily shifted towards online play. If we were to ignore this, we'd lose a huge portion of the community which means this game would have a hard time surviving. If we saw a high population of offline players, those modes would most likely get more attention. Again though, there are plans for expanding on them over the next few years. You all won't be left out.
- Froommey3 years agoSeasoned Ace@EA_Aljo So you expect offline gamers to buy the game without working on these modes? This can just be a joke? Give the game for free like other, smaller companies do and make money through sales of accessories or hut cards or from your online customers. I also believe that this three year plan is just to appease offline gamers. There will be no work on offline modes in the next three years, just like in the last three years
- KlariskraysNHL3 years agoHero+@Froommey No one is expecting you to buy the game if it doesn't meet YOUR standards/wants from the game. I mean they did add some presentation this year which covers online and offline which of course didn't meet with praise from the community overall. I don't think full presentation will be a thing but I could see them revamping the intro and showing the goalie stuff and even bringing back 3 Stars. I'm hopeful for you all even if though I don't touch the offline modes you all love.
- Froommey3 years agoSeasoned Ace@KlariskraysNHL
These presentations have nothing to do with the offline modes but are just in-game presentations. The entire AI logic of the offline modes, I'm specifically talking about the franchise mode, is broken. If you don't need these offline gamers and it looks like that, then in fairness you should let them know. I have no understanding of making promises to people year after year without them being kept. I think I speak for many offline gamers and not just for myself. - EA_Aljo3 years ago

You're kinda twisting my words around. I never said anything about expecting offline players to buy or not. I'm just letting you know why we've chosen to focus more on online modes this year.
You're entitled to your assumptions. That's fine. We'll just have to see how things go over the next 3 years to see if that's true or not.
- KlariskraysNHL3 years agoHero+
@FroommeyYou got full access to sliders in the offline modes and from the videos that PernellKarl027 has really made close to true hockey experiences. And I'm sorry but presentation is a huge part of offline imo just looking at the forums over the last year. You don't get many online only gamers asking for that stuff.
- Froommey3 years agoSeasoned Ace@KlariskraysNHL
I have my own very good sliders that I use. PernellKarl027 does a good job, I know that. My rosters I share for the offline community are one of the best and up to date. OPSports user know this. My face scan thread in OP Sports ist one with the largest views in this OP forum. More than 240 000 views. Did'nt you say to me that face scans got less intentions and are not important ? I have no idea why you always want to focus me on gameplay? What does the best gameplay have to do with the development logic of franchise mode not working properly? Nevertheless, the presentation has nothing to do with the game mode. It's just part of the gameplay. If it is the case that the presentation is only important for offline players, then this presentation was removed from them from NHL 23 onwards. Trade logic, free agent logic, player development logic and so on. All doesn't work like it should. The hybrid skill situation also shows me that there are maybe not less offline gamers. I don't think many using hybrid stick in online modes.
So the masses of offline gamers in the forums and social networks caused it to be added again through their strong protests. - 3 years ago

I just saw my name pop up 😀 First of all I’m very flattered, thanks allot to you guys for the shoutout 👍
Maybe I’m speaking for myself here, but having way better tools to edit player likeness and better overall presentation would suffice to have a very good offline experience. Since like you know, the gameplay parts can be tweaked to our own liking. Most of them anyway…
See, we found a brand new formula for players not too long ago and we have to EDIT all NHL DMEN on the PS5 and X again… A global editor would be GOLDEN for us right now… Imagine editing all these players with the editor we have right now, it’s a MAJOR pain 😫😫
When EA say that they focused more on the online portion "this" year, I can help myself to cringe 😬 Cause I didn’t see much in the last 3 years anyway for offline peeps.
- KlariskraysNHL3 years agoHero+@PernellKarl027 I sadly don't think we will ever get to the point of being able to edit real players looks and such around. I mean we tried to get a simple as to why you couldn't remove helmets especially if you were creating a legend who didn't wear one back then. I chalked it up to licensing and not wanting to throw anyone under the bus so it just gets ignored. But time will tell what the future of customization brings.
I know personally I've been asking for the FC (formerly FIFA) Be A Pro player customization to come to the NHL. It has so many more customization options than what we currently have. But only time will tell if it comes to be.
