Madden has its flaws, quite a few actually, but it has absolutely been setting a standard for its offline modes. I think like 80-90% of the playing time is still against AI, so it gets the attention all sports games need. The additions to Franchise mode and their AI innovations have been next level since the move to next gen.
Even if all these new features aren’t as great as they seem, it’s still a huge improvement. I picked up Madden for the first time in years last year, and even made a post highlighting cool things from that game I want to see in NHL.
