Yet another update to waste what already is the worst NHL game in its history.
Take a bow guys, fantastic work 👍
This is probably the best NHL we have had in 5 years. Sorry you can't spam glitch goals anymore and have to be creative again.

This couldn't be furthest from the truth. There is zero creativity or skill needed to score in 24 and it is infested with glitch goals, over powered hitting and people constantly spamming the one button dekes/checking
Nearly every goal is one out of these 3 scenarios.
1. Force a pass across the crease for a tap in at the back post. A bit of figure skating beforehand is maybe needed 🤦
2. Cut inside and aim for the opposite side of the goal
3. Hit a soft shot from anywhere in the o zone and 9 times out of 10 the goalie will let it bounce of the pads and you'll have a tap in.
Very very rarely you'll see anyone try anything different from the above. Most people don't even need a full team of players, they just skate down the ice as fast as possible then skate in circles until they have the opportunity of one of the scenarios I mentioned.

Cross crease forces are div 4 players and don't even reach 8 wins in champs because any good player takes out the guy he's going to pass it to.
They cut inside if you chase them out like a div 4 player defending and break your defensive formation.
That's because you play protect the net and collapse and allow point shots while screening your goalie.

The higher the division in HUT the worse it gets.
Watch the world championship on YouTube, the best players are the worst for abusing glitches.

Guys skating down the side and just flicking up and it's automatic goal. Forcing tips because they were like a 80% success rate. Then ofc the wrap around stuff.
Game isn't perfect, especially the hitting this year which hurt the fun for a lot of players but it's much more playable. Even skill zone defending has been reduced significantly this year.

To be fair, the things you mentioned were all included in the way top players played NHL23 as well. Far-side shots, cross-crease passes, and rebounds? They're staples of every iteration of the game. Actually, last year had MORE glitch goals. The "glitch wrap" was incredibly easy to do. Not to mention simply skating around the net and every far-side shot would go in... even if you barely got around the net. It was way cheesier than this year, I think. And I don't think this needs to be said but the "figure skating" was OBVIOUSLY way worse last year because ultra-L2'ing was still in the game.
So idk... cheesy players are always going to cheese. I find the minute-to-minute gameplay in 1v1 modes against dudes who aren't just trying to cheese the game resembles hockey way more than last year. That said, hitting (speed boost hitting) is out of control this year. You can have a clear break on a slower defender along the boards when entering the zone and the defenseman will just go into turbo T-rex mode and become McDavid for a few seconds. So dumb.- phomi992 years agoSeasoned Veteran

So dumb. It's 100% less cheesier this year. I had a pal who would place top 100 every champs for about 4 years. He lasted a month this year because he couldn't score or have an invisible Shield against incoming hits. It's less toxic than previous years.
It doesn't make any logical sense to say this was the worst NHL when in fact it shutdown most of the toxic Playstyle glitch goals however they fumbled so badly by this new hitting mechanics because even the people who loved the changes in NHL 24 can't stand hitting mechanics and I'm one of them.
I just hope this tuner is because they have one last final patch that addresses hitting. And if it fails then scrap the mechanics for next NHL.
