Yet another update to waste what already is the worst NHL game in its history.
Take a bow guys, fantastic work 👍
This is probably the best NHL we have had in 5 years. Sorry you can't spam glitch goals anymore and have to be creative again.
This couldn't be furthest from the truth. There is zero creativity or skill needed to score in 24 and it is infested with glitch goals, over powered hitting and people constantly spamming the one button dekes/checking
Nearly every goal is one out of these 3 scenarios.
1. Force a pass across the crease for a tap in at the back post. A bit of figure skating beforehand is maybe needed 🤦
2. Cut inside and aim for the opposite side of the goal
3. Hit a soft shot from anywhere in the o zone and 9 times out of 10 the goalie will let it bounce of the pads and you'll have a tap in.
Very very rarely you'll see anyone try anything different from the above. Most people don't even need a full team of players, they just skate down the ice as fast as possible then skate in circles until they have the opportunity of one of the scenarios I mentioned.
Cross crease forces are div 4 players and don't even reach 8 wins in champs because any good player takes out the guy he's going to pass it to.
They cut inside if you chase them out like a div 4 player defending and break your defensive formation.
That's because you play protect the net and collapse and allow point shots while screening your goalie.
The higher the division in HUT the worse it gets.
Watch the world championship on YouTube, the best players are the worst for abusing glitches.
Game isn't perfect, especially the hitting this year which hurt the fun for a lot of players but it's much more playable. Even skill zone defending has been reduced significantly this year.

While I appreciate buffing goalies, I do wonder exactly what EA considers a "small goalie" to be. Quite frankly, whatever boost small goalies get would just be negated by the fact that small goalies have absolutely terrible vision and are constantly screened, so I can't imagine switching to any height under 6'3".

Small goalies are between 5'10" and 6'4".

@EA_AljoIs the bonus better for a 5"10 goalie than a 6"4 one? Or same bonus5'10" and under receive the max bonus. 6'4" and over receives the minimum boost. Those in-between get a boost somewhere in the middle.
I think there needs to be some clarification as that doesn't seem match the patch notes.
- Increased Extra Padding and Lightwork Zone Ability buff for small goalies by 40%
- Increased Extra Padding and Lightwork Superstar Ability buff for small goalies by 15%
To me this reads as a straight 40%/15% buff for "small" goalies. The initial confusion in the community was what the definition of "small" was. Now there also appears to be a different range for the buff depending on the goalie size? Patch notes need to be clearer than this.

Wait, just for clarification, does that mean 6'4" isn't considered to be small? If we want the boost from being small, we would need to be 6'3" at the most?
- phomi992 years agoSeasoned Veteran@SummerOfDekes If you want to maximize the boost you go shorter like 5ft10.
In HUT I tested it with 6ft2 goalie with light work and didn't notice anything special, it was buffed but not wow! so at 6ft4 it's probably not even that significant. I tried it on a 6ft goalie belfour and that's where I really noticed it a lot. I wanna test out Cujo because he's a bit shorter and better stats and also not butterfly style but can't find him on market.
Problem is big goalies are still OP and need a proper nerf before you can consider a small goalie. Small goalies are useable but only with the light work trait which costs 6 AP while a 82 markstrom will do the same with no AP wasted. - MarvnZindler2 years agoNew Ace

@EA_Aljo just hoping to get a response to this question
