NHL 24 Difficulty Feedback

Seriously guys, there is no need to make the game this hard. It's not in the slightest bit enjoyable.

I'm no noob to the game, been playing it for 30+ years.

Rookie is like playing Superstar on 23,playing Superstar on 24 is just impossible, even against teams with 20+ lower than myself.

I spend at least 5+ hours a day everyday playing the game and no matter how much I dominate the stats it only takes the AI one or two shots to score, whilst I'm hitting 30 odd shots on target and I'm lucky if one goes in.

Add to that the ridiculous amount of tripping penalties from the AI, on both sides. It's got to be averaging at least a dozen a game.

There is many aspects of the game that are much improved from 23, but it's went from one extreme to another.

I've never felt so frustrated with NHL as I am just now.

Please, please make the game more user friendly.

You're quite right, I wrote this quite early after buying the game somewhere in november. A bit too soon.

I had trouble defending in allstar eventhough the numbers where there with the rookie/first be a pro season on nhl24 finally ending with 80 goals 102 assists 182 poins in 82 games.

Now I'm after 40 games on superstar at 74 goals 59 assist and 133 points for the second season. Of course the player skill stats have improved but I've adjusted and learned much in the way you mentioned as well. Somehow though, superstar has felt easier to play than allstar when it comes to defense.

Hitting instead of the poke-check and better positioning defense-wise was a game changer, eventhough the ice sometimes still comes across tilted.

Particularly there seems to be a connection to the SOG-ratio between the teams that at some point makes scoring for a team much more likely.

  • I have the same problem when I play offline Squad Battles in HUT. I will put up 60 shots and get maybe 4 goals, but the CPU will put up 10 shots and get 3 goals! Its so unbalanced! I am no rookie either, my team is 97 overall and I have a hard time beating a 77 overall on Superstar. The CPU goalie will make god save after god save after god save, with an empty endurance bar, when my goalie will give up a goal on the first shot the CPU gets in the game! You think EA would care since the people put so much money into buying this game then all the money spent in HUT online, but it doesn't seem like EA cares too much.....

    Hey there, @cakers81468

60 shots is a lot. It sounds like you're throwing them on net instead of creating good scoring chances. Try moving the puck more to pull the goalie out of position.

Me and my 16yo brother are cooping franchise on All-star.

It's not the game its you

we've gotten to the point now where the AI is reaching its limit on plays now

     looking forward to 25

  • Totally agree mate. Hopefully EA integrates a computer difficulty learning style to customize for each player's skill level. Pro was too easy and all start too difficult (especially against good/great teams, but even the worst teams)!

This is the first time that I have played NHL since the PS3 2015 version and playing anything in the HUT section offline as I will not pay sony for the rights to play online for a rediculous amount of money that is unnecessary to charge for online play. Then EA is charing for certain online content as well with EA Live. Anyways, I have found that with an 86 overall team at the moment on PRO I am having grave difficulty playing a 77 overall team, my skaters when I pass the puck either skate away from the puck or the puck goes no where near my team. I had many instances where I go into the attacking zone and none of my players are there. The cpu on my team doesn't go to the loose puck and one-timers are the most irritating thing to try and convert. I have found that on my team lest a player is above 90+ they are slow in responsivness in every capacity delayed in moving in the opposing direction sluggish at best to move any what fast. The cpu/AI oppposing team with less overall seems to make hits and checks when I am not even close and execute everything possible the cpu on my team cannot. I was hoping to try HUT for a fun experience however the only light is the HUT rush component, and some of the HUT moments (others are ridiculously untouchable), but the HUT offline single player has to be the most frustrating to play and I have lost 3 in a row between pro and semi-pro against teams less than 83 overall. Most demoralizing aspect of the game, and it sucks and the game play settings have no bearing in the HUT mode in any regard. So I may just have to stop playing in this specific section as it is not worth the pointess stress of a game with no significant value it adds to life what so ever.
