@MadTrapperNT
All they have to do is make total control more down to earth and realistic.
Tone down the hip check.
Remove the michigan and one handed tuck from Y and A.
Bring back reverse hit and board hugging to Y and A and tadaa!
You get a good in-between the two from skill stick and total control that make more sense.
Updating skill stick while keeping all the essential of what made it the best control for so long. You wouldnt even need to choose between one or the other, you get the best of both controls. One control setting for everyone, all equal, you know, an even playing field... Of course the michigan abuser wont like it though.
@Tigidooh
Talking to myself....
But lets say they miraculously bring back board hug to Y and reverse hit to A..and ideally protect puck too..
And lets suppose they absolutly want to keep the michigan and one handed tuck on face button...
Would it be possible to have alternate dekes to X and B? If using L1 as a modifier, hold L1 and use X and B for the michigan and one handed tuck. I suppose this could work out....and solve other issues by the same time.

The funny thing is once they take away the hip checks is figure skating and abusing the pressure system is gonna be the surefire meta because hitting is an inconsistent mess.

They don't have to take it away but they need to tone it down a TON. It completely disregards players momentum, position, size, speed, strength and virtually everything that makes any sense. It also looks incredibly stupid with somebody just gliding around like they are trying to achieve a bowel movement. If they can't fix the ridiculousness of it then yeah, they have to get rid of it. The pressure system abuse is already in full swing, people take garbage shots just to pump up the meter when no team in real life would be bothered by a team chucking nonsense shots at the net just to fill an imaginary meter.
Quite frankly the game is a mess right now and there are so many things that needs to be fixed outside of the hip check. I can't go a single game without seeing several dozen game related issues happen to my team and my opponents team that we have no control over. The issues exist because of poorly implemented new features and legacy issues.
