NHL 24 HUT Content 7/23

Hey, HUT Fans! For today's content drop, we've got some new Draft and Base 2.0 items. The base items are intended for this weekend's HUT Champs competitive season. No HC token is required for entry. It's open to all. There are also new weekly objectives for a 95 Oliver Bjorkstrand and 93 Fraser Minten. An 89 Will Borgen can be earned through HUT Moments.

base icons Champs was a great idea, base items too ... but again Squad Battles players are not considered by EA, not for years.

With the constant ignoring the offliners (BaP and Franchise too) how can you convince people to buy NHL 25?

What's your concern exactly? There are a number of ways for those that only play offline to earn rewards. Squad Battles, Rush, Moments, and weekly objectives. Those rewards can obviously be used as fodder for sets. Everyone has access to the Base 2.0 items. They just won't have a chance at the HC rewards if they choose not to play.

  • It's a fairly good attempt to appease both the players asking for more players to be allowed into champs so there's more competition and less waiting for it; and the players who felt that the juiced pack event made their grinding for a good team in champs feel worthless. And now that there's the new base cards to choose from for the team, so that those old grinded teams don't matter, how about rejuicing the packs, so we can go back to when the entire group of HUT players was ACTUALLY having more fun than HUT has ever been before? As a whole, I don't think I've ever seen a more positive experience had by the players of this game. A few wet blankets, sure. Mostly people who missed it, or people who felt it made their working hard all year worthless. But as someone who worked hard all year, I can honestly say that all my work felt worthless before the packs got juiced, and finally felt worth my time while they were. The packs in this game, and the odds of getting worthwhile cards have always been horrendous, so when it was finally worth the time and money, and the entire community was happier than I've ever seen, of course EA corrects that happiness in 24hrs, and sends us all back to the HUT Hell we were in for so long..

    my concern?

    The same since always

There is no love for offliners, no special events, no exclusive cards.
Even though more people play HUT offline than online

    Champs Cards? exclusive
    Champs Rewards Player Cards? exclusive

Any online player can play offline at any time (even if most people don't want to)
But as an offline player you have to buy an online subscription first to be able to play, so most rewards are behind a paywall

It's NOT about more opportunities to play HUT.
And Rush, Moments and grinding Objectives are NOT an equivalent replacement to Rivals Champs... this is a completely different gameplay.

Like I said, I like the idea of CS being back, but where is the content for SB?

EA always says hockey is for everyone... why is this just an empty phrase?

There are special events for offline players though. The ones I mentioned previously. Objectives. Moments and Rush. Which frequently are tied to the current event. What would you do to make events that are exclusively for offline players and what's to stop online players from taking part in them? I'm talking about HUT specifically. I really don't think we're ignoring offline players when it comes to ways to earn rewards.

I don't understand why the Bjorkstrand objectives require us to play with WHL players even though Bjorkstrand has played for 2 different NHL teams. I mean I understand that the Batherson and Sanheim objectives required non NHL players as Batherson and Sanheim have only played for one NHL team, but the Pionk objectives required Jets and Rangers players and the Schmaltz objectives required Blackhawks and Coyotes players, so I don't understand why the Bjorkstrand objectives require players from a WHL team instead of Blue Jackets.

The positive thing is that we can also get a 93 overall card from today's new objectives without using players from a specific team or playing a specific game mode. That's very nice even though the Bjorkstrand objectives are a bit disappointing because of the WHL player requirement.
