Also, clean the console vents of any dust/lint and store it out in the open rather than in an enclosed cabinet in case your console is overheating.

So far I have tried everything suggested and updated my controllers as well. The game is still lagging controller go unresponsive, controller crash, and the game crashes.
EA_AljoWhat happens when the game crashes? Does it just close and send you back to the PS dashboard? Also, have you tried playing with wired controllers?
