IMO, deflection goals are just too accurate or goalies need to have a consistent way to counter them otherwise a team can abuse this method too easily.
Also players that are not even attempting a deflection play are getting them because there is no skill gap involved. It would be nice to see the tip animation attached to a certain button, for example making holding L2/LT in front of the net mandatory to get the tip animation, otherwise the puck just goes through as a normal shot.

Yeah I agree with you about this one. It is just too easy to score deflection goals. The game would be more realistic if deflections went wide sometimes and goalies should be able to save more of them as well. Also the big tipper x-factor should be removed entirely from WOC at least even if the overall balance of the game in NHL 24 feels better than previous games. I play a lot of EASHL 6s club and I have played many games where the ending result is something like 5-4 and over half of the goals have been deflection goals and thats too many in my opinion. I also support the idea of having manual deflections and making deflections more challenging to do. I hope we would see some improvement in NHL 25.
