This means you make a button perform a different function than what it does by default. For example, if you want to move hustle from clicking down on the left stick to using the A button instead, you would make that change in the Xbox controller settings. @EA_Aljo That sounds like customizing your own control set-up I am gonna do my research on control mapping because this sounds like a very good solution to all of this it’s not the solution of bringing back the NHL 94 controllers like me & many other people want but it’s better than nothing at all should I succeed in doing I will try to pass it on to other people and everyone will be happy

@EA_Aljo I watched some videos about the remapping it wasnt much but how would I be able to use any customized controls in NHL 25? Also can I remap the controls with my current regular control?

What this does is remap the controls for every game and app as well as how you navigate the menus on your console. Unless you get a controller that has separate profiles. Then you can activate a different profile for different games. For example, I have one profile I activate when I'm playing NHL. Then, I can turn it off when I'm done and go back to normal controls.

Yes. Button remapping works. There are a ton of videos online that show you how to do it. All you're doing is changing what a button does. For example, if you want the A button to do what the B button does instead, you go into the settings and change this as instructed in any of those videos.

You can use a regular controller. However, that means all of the controls for every game and app will also have the remapped controls. Again, I recommend you watch some videos on this.

@EA_Aljo I already have watched videos... I have already made my own custom controllers they are exactly the same as default controllers but I named them "NHL 94 Controls" now if I get NHL 25 how do I get my custom controls into the game?

Your modified controls will work for everything on your Xbox until you change them. This means that going forward, every game, app and menu will use the updated controls.

@EA_Aljo So if I get NHL 25 & I go to control set up will it show my custom made controllers as an option?

No. It'll show the NHL 25 controls, but they will work according to the mapping you did in the controller settings on your Xbox.

@EA_Aljo Everything sounds good so far but now there’s nothing to do but wait till the game comes out I thank you for all of your help but when I get the NHL 25 and if there’s any issues I will let you know.

@EA_Aljo Hey buddy I tried the control mapping with NHL 25 & it didn't work... I created a control set-up just like the default set-up & named it "NHL 94 controls" Am I doing something wrong or do I need that special controller you told me about?

You need to change the controls to match the NHL 94 controls. You can remap them on your console in the controller settings.

@EA_Aljo Never mind about it... I or anyone else should not have to re-map controllers or have to purchase a special controller to play a video game its something that you guys provided for 30 years & now you guys pulled the rug from under our feet. I know you were trying to help & I greatly appreciate it & I do know that you have no control over the EA corporation's decisions as well as the EA development team's decisions I know you are just somebody that reports other peoples concerns & complaints to the EA development team & corporation but again many people including myself are very angry about this & I know you said that this wasn't meant to anger anyone but never-the-less what did you all think was going to happen? I even saw a discussion I believe around labor day someone started a conversation about the NHL 94 controls & I saw how you informed them that they were not around for this year's game either & they were very ticked off but I know that's not your fault but as far as I am concerned, I am just gonna have to back down from all this & I have no intentions on purchasing the EA sports NHL games again unless the NHL 94 controls are brought back & I know I am not the only one that feels that way & I absolutely hope to God that the EA corporation & development team know that there many people that are very angry about this... The only thing(s) you can do for me now is to remind the development team how angry people are & if you ever know about NHL 94 controls potentially coming back you can message me here on the EA website & for myself I guess I can ask every year if the NHL 94 controls are coming back...
