No pc version?

I haven’t played since NHL 15 for PS4. I remember the game being buggy (and people online would exploit them to cheat), it was extremely pay to win, and EA refused to listen to the player base when they complained about stuff (like having to pay hundreds of dollars to get a marginal team to play online with). I remember the basic sentiment from EA being “that’s not happening, screw you”. You couldn’t play the game and have fun without spending big money on card packs. Because of that, I’ve been boycotting all EA products til now, where EA has made the decision for me to continue the boycott. 

I now have a  kid in hockey and he wants to play. He’s got a switch, but guess what, no NHL for switch. So I figured he could just play it on my PC. Guess what, no NHL for pc. Apparently EA claims there’s not enough players to justify making a switch or PC version, yet there’s constant internet posts about people wanting it and EA actively silences those who petition for it. Even if it’s a bi-annual release and just update the rosters in the off year. Either way, I seem to remember players running for the hills from EA because of the blatant cash grab attitude and the general disregard for customer-based suggestions.

I’ve googled around and there’s some mod who keeps redirecting people to a thread about “why” there’s no NHL for switch or PC, but at least the mobile site is so horrible that you can’t see more than 3 posts and there’s literally no reason as to why.

So, what gives? Is EA still in the “we hate our customers” mode (I ask this as NHL24 has a 50% positive rating)? Is it still “pay to play, pay even more to have fun”? Last question - since EA doesn’t care about PC or switch users, is there any modern type NHL game that’s worth playing on either platform?
