Not holding grip

Can anyone for the love of god explain to me why most of the faceoffs I lose, I lose because of "Not holding grip". I do nothing different yet this pops up on loses. Amyone know what I'm doing wrong?...

    There are two grips to chose from; backhand and forehand. Hold your right hand stick to your left or right to prepare for the faceoff. 

    Yes, you can win faceoffs without a proper grip, but your odds will improve if you do as above.

I pick a grip on every face off. I'm holding left or right. Then I pull back just like always. But sometimes I lose and it tells me "not holding grip" even though I did pick a grip.
