The reason being is because the computer always has better puck interceptions.

Use DSS to slow down the puck carrier. Eliminate their options, force them to think. It's also far more effective than previous years at tracking loose pucks and negating passes mid-flight:

If the pass is coming at you, you are screwed. I am a defenseman in real life and have had to play a 2 on 1 more than I can count and I can count on 1 hand how many times the puck was forced through me. Passes behind or in front yes but rarely right through. In this game, no matter the position you're in, the puck will go through you even when you are facing the puck and will make it across for a shot.
They want goals in this game, plain and simple. Defense is nerfed so badly that any player can skate around doing pretty much whatever they want and they is little you can do about it. It's been this way for a while now and I don't see it changing any time soon. They want players to be able to do all the flashy and offensive stuff.
Yes, you can poke with DSS sometimes, it can work but does not work at the clip that it should be allowed to work. @KidShowtime1867 the clips that you showed where you held your stick out, 2 of them were so delayed on passing that it would have been simple to make that play, the other 2 you got them but the problem is, that's not how you play a 2 on 1 and the game should reward actually defense instead of glossing over it with a few clips saying you can do it. If you play hockey and are stupid enough to try that, more than likely, you'd miss because the player would be smart enough to make a proper play and you'd get burned and benched.
I'll never understand why people defend a mechanic that doesn't work like it should saying "yes you can just do this" yet it goes against what should be done. Still doesn't explain why pucks go through dmen who are in good position and nothing happens yet if it's an AI, it's picked off.

Not at all. If you're scrambling inputs at your player, sure. But you can easily position yourself to intercept 99% of the passes coming at you. Again, this goes back to the 'skating too fast' that I'm going to harp on until I die; people are skating too fast when defending too.
Bro - the reason why they were 'delayed' in their passing is precisely because I had my stick out, forcing them to re-evaluate their options. That's the point I'm making when I say to use DSS more.

I forced this player to abort their cross-crease, sending them deep into a corner where they were obviously flustered and scrambling because they threw a 'spin-o-rama' input at their player.

Show a video of a puck going "through" you in '24, and let us decide if that's what is actually happening.
