Input lag is when you press a button but don't see the result on the screen. Is that what you are describing?
In free skate, you can try taking various actions and see how your player responds.
If everything seems delayed, there could be an issue with your controller or its connection to the system.
Try plugging your controller in to use the wired connection. If the problem is resolved, it could be the bluetooth or signal interference.
You may be able to reposition your console away from interference. You may be able to update your controller's firmware.
Some 3rd party controllers (usually the cheap ones) can have input delay. A defective controller may have this as well.
If you can, try a different controller.
This should eliminate your controller as the issue. Unfortunately it gets more difficult if the problem is on the console side.
Is this also an issue in offline play? If so you can probably eliminate anything connection wise.
It could be your HDMI and/or TV (or playstation) not processing graphics adequately, but those can mostly be eliminated by trying a different cord/input/monitor. (Rather than your input being delayed, your input was never in sync with the graphics to begin with.)
If you can narrow down the issue using trial and error above, it could help find a resolution.
Hopefully you don't get to the point where the only logical cause is the playstation itself. Make sure you are horizontal (some vertical leaks of liquid metal have occured) and have plenty of ventilation around the console. Make sure the fan(s) are running and feel around to see if the console is running hot.
Good luck!
