Online Versus With Friends Against CPU

So im not sure if anyone else has had this issue in Online Versus playing with friends for fun, but me and my friend share xbox accounts so whenever one of us buys a game we both get the game. now i purchased NHL: 24 so me and my friend can play it and we like to play Online Versus on the same team but face CPU and turn penalties off so we can make massive hits against the CPU without taking penalties, but the thing is no matter who hosts the game lobby it always puts me on faceoffs. We use to do this on NHL 23 and if my friend hosted he would be on faceoff but if i hosted i would be on faceoff but thats not the case in NHL 24, Any fixes or reasons for this?
