ONLINE vs OFFLINE
This is gonna be a long read, so bear with me. I would also like for this thread to be constructive š
First of all, I feel that there seems to be allot of confusion when people ask questions or have concerns on the game as to where these might fit, ONLINE or OFFLINE. For many parts of the game, these are two different beasts.
I also have the feeling that EA tries to please each and everyone in the same package and thatās near impossible. Because we have a good SIM portion hiding in there and thereās everything an Arcade freak would want. But itās when you try to combine both in that said package that it screws everything up and brings tons of confusion like you see around these parts in the last few daysā¦.
You can only EXCEL in one subject, instead of being AVERAGE on multiple ones.
Why not make two different versions of the game ? And both at a reduced price of letās say $40. Pretty sure the 2 versions would outsell that only 1 and on top of it, EA will still have their MTX in the ONLINE version. Heck they could even do MTX in OFFLINE for Franchise modes or BAP.
This could leave OFFLINE people to swallow the pill much easier in terms of what was not touched in the game for the longest time. And ONLINE people would also pay a reduce price to start and grow on this after for these Micro Transactions they preferā¦
Now here me out. One game could be the ONLINE version where you can call it NHL24 HITZ, NHL24 STREET or whatever. In that version, you could have:
- Basically what it is now. HUT, WOC and EASHL.
- Pressure Meter and everything that comes with it to force people to play a bit more like the real game.
- Micro Transactions to fulfill the need of everyone and everything, from clown suits to Green fluorescent uniforms.
- Goal Cellys, Flex Cam or Personalized dance people wants to perform.
- Short intros or even no intros at all.
- Sliders and settings for that version.
- TUNERS and PATCHES/UPDATE for that said mode. Cause often times, these updates screw up the OFFLINE portion. Trust me !
Now for the OFFLINE portion:
- Way Longer intros.
- Goalies Presentations with stats at the beginning of each game.
- A way better simulation of that beautiful sport and what it represents.
- Better Franchise mode in all aspects and player likeness.
- Better BAP
- Slider Presets that would please real hockey freaks.
- Tuners/Updates that would reflect the OFFLINE portion only.
As for myself, Iāve been a loyal customer since NHL91 and this year will be the first year I wonāt buy the game. Cause as mentioned above, Iām CONFUSED š Iāve seen very nice strides in the right direction, so KUDOS for that EA šš¼ But on the other hand, I feel that youāve taken 10 steps back in other areas. Iāve made my points in other threads, this is not the place for this hereā¦
So here were my thoughts on all of this and I think that it would be a very good thing for NHL25. NHL25 HITZ and NHL25 CORE š
Heck, Iāll run the Offline portion for FREE if you want, and Iām dead serious š What do you have to lose ?
