I imagine that because it hardly made any difference from 15 to 22.
Would help if the puck could take more dynamic bounces and forecheck was easier.
As it was back then was that no one would never take a shot or passes unless it was 99% sure, otherwise you gave away the puck and you took a risk of never get it back.
So why would anyone try a dump?The fact this patch was released without hybrid goalie controls is unfathomable. We're stuck with a goalie control system which has as its whole purpose to pull us out of position.
I cannot believe someone at EA actually tried tether mode and said "This is great, the players will love it. Go with that."
- @Sega82mega Uhm. The defense uses clear a lot. Really, a lot. On the PK, I really just want to flip it out of the zone if the puck is low in my end. Now that they made this annoying pressure meter a thing, my stamina meter just auto-drains to death and when I clear, I can barely get it across the blue line or when it looks like it's going to be cleared, it's gloved by an opposing player in a way. It really wasn't broken for 23. You just had to be careful with it to not take a penalty.

18 year vet here. Not gonna go into what I like/dislike with this years game.
But... the offensive zone shooting / check bug needs to be fixed ASAP. I don't even know why it's happening (maybe holding LT because I only play defense) but it's incredibly frustrating. It's happened to me on breakaways too when picking a stick side and shooting... player just drops the puck and tries checking the air.

- The pressure meter garbage is still way too overpowered. It lowers attributes too much, it has too much of an impact on stamina, it should go to half meter once the puck leaves the zone or the goalie covers the puck or there is a whistle (doesn't completely reset/end the meter).
- Puck dumps/flips are still way too weak. Teams should be able to reliably clear the puck from their zone on the PK or when the pressure meter is full. Purposely nerfing it just to make things easier on offense is a joke, especially when the defensive tools are all weak currently.
- Just completely remove the shoving. It causes people to get interference penalties in the offensive zone, and on defense it prevents people from manually aiming poke checks while taking them out of the play because they are slowed down while shoving the air.
- For the love of god change how the WOC menus work, it feels like I'm in the 90s again using dialup internet. This is completely unacceptable for 2023.
- Sadly I didn't get a clip of it but I was playing a 3v3 quickplay game, our team scored on a penalty shot, the other team paused the game, and while we were paused someone on the other team was able to keep playing and scored a goal while we were stuck in the pause menu. Not sure if this is an exploitable thing or just a rare random bug.

- Yee EA got the chance here to encourage puck dumps/flips to clear the zone for the defensive team to get a breather.
If the pressure system scare people good enough for them to feel It's 'okey' to clear the zone for the price of a half meter. - TheUnusedCrayon3 years agoSeasoned Ace
Puck pickups are very unbalanced. A puck is easier to pick up through a player than when the puck is in between your skates and stick. There should be a delay there, but too often players are picking pucks off of good defensive plays but because the puck ends up in skates after a good hit or a good poke check, the offense is simply regaining possession back too easily.

However it is way too easy to get full pressure especially in 3v3, shots should have much less impact on the progression, I think it should be 1 bar per shot/hit I believe it’s around 1.5-2 bars per event right now.
This is more of a quality of life fix for general issues but there seems to be a bug if you are on a customization menu (pro player, casual player, etc..) for a few seconds it will force you to save it even if there are no changes made.
There needs to be an option to universally carry over names, goalie stances, numbers, and other presentation items across home away and alternate. Perhaps a similar sync feature like the common faces and hair, this would retain the previous option of being very precise in customization, while equally allowing for a faster option for casual or broader customization. The issue myself and others are having is that if we want to make our character name we have to do so for numerous menus:
-pro player (home)
-pro player (away)
-pro player (alternate)
Etc…
