The odds are per pack. Not per 10 packs. There is a 29% chance with each pack that you'll get a purple.

You're not a math major either. If I have a 29% chance of pulling a purple in EACH pack, then mathematically that means I should see a purple every 3-4 packs. Mathematically. 3/10 per pack is equal to 3/10 packs. They are the same odds. NOW if someone is full of BS like say EA, they would say something like your answer. I apologize for the saltiness but man excuses are just infuriating. The odds are a sham, bottom-line. If I open 50 packs I should see at least a dozen and become more accurate the more packs you open. That's the math
Community ManagerThat's really not how it works. You have a 29% chance per pack. You could pull a purple in every pack or you could never pull one. Opening more packs gives you more chances, but it doesn't raise the probabilities since those are set at 29% for each pack. This doesn't mean that every 3 - 4 packs you are guaranteed to receive a purple.
I agree that statistically it's low that you'd get 1 in 25 packs, but it's most certainly not impossible and doesn't signify there's a problem.
Odds of one or worse purples through 25 players packs with stated odds is 0.0269%, or 1 in 3713, for reference.
