PLEASE fix the wait times

Last night, 10pm ps4 version, took 40 minutes queueing as a "Skater" for quicker linkup, to be paired with 4 other players, now a lobby of 5 players no goalies, took another 25 minutes to find a game in 6v6 drop ins with all enabled to find faster games. So far I have searched for games for 5 hours, played 3 games. Ones eliminator is the only mode that has reasonable wait time in CHEL.

Hey, everyone. Is it just drop-in games where you're experiencing the long wait times or is this happening in club games as well? My club isn't having a hard time finding 6s games. I haven't tried drop-ins yet though. It seems that's where this issue is mainly occurring. My thought is that the pool of players may be smaller due to the free agent option with clubs taking many that would normally end up in drop-in lobbies.

In theory, having a bunch of free agents ready to fill spots should make matchmaking much faster. If you're a two man team without a drop in option, you're sort of limiting the pool of available teams and need to hope there is an open team using pretty much the exact same settings you are.

That's all on paper though - NHL matchmaking has always seemed random

why did ea change the drop in lobbies on nhl and fc/fifa when NO ONE ..nobody asked for it?

it was a perfect system .. never any problems finding games and making new friends .. now it seems like you cant get games , literally in fc as its broken.. i havent added a new friend since the lobby change .. before that I had like 200 friends to play with online .. i lost everything when I made a new email and account thinking it would be th esame. 

so no one wanted the lobby start up screen to change yet ea somehow made it worse for no reason at all .. other than to funnel you into the casino for the slot machines which is my opinion or else the drop in lobby would of been left alone or improved not made nearly unusable.

right now you cant even play clubs on FC .. and no word from EA yet except that they are "investigating"

Nothing is changed to funnel players into HUT. If we truly only wanted everyone to play that mode, it would be the only one available. We're not going to put work all the time and resources into other modes just to push people into HUT. 

Lobbies changed in NHL to help avoid the constant trolling of the old system along with alleviating the race to position. How did the old system let you make friends better? Admittedly, I don't spend much time in drop-ins, but when I have, there are still some good players that I could reach out to and potentially find someone new to regularly run games with. What is the obstacle to this now that wasn't there previously?

Unfortunately, I don't have any details on the issues with drop-ins in FC.

We've only noticed in Drop In.

Someone said in here that ps4 and Xbox 1 is a higher player base but I'm sure I saw @EA_Aljo say that the current gen surpassed the old gen now.

That being said, playing on ps5 and u fortu ately I've been playing 3s the past few nights and we find games with 3 of us in about 15 seconds. Not sure what the problem is but club for ps5 is super quick.

There's only 1 way that you can drastically reduce wait times especially during low population times: The Matchmaker problem 

(other than reducing the number of modes which will never happen at this point)
