Pressure System is not made for World of Chel

It was trending this way in the technical test but it's confirmed in the final release of the game that EA did not think for one second about World of Chel when implementing this pressure system. It's made for single player modes, Online Vs, HUT, where you can make line changes for fresh players on the ice. Combine this with nerfing the high flip (yes, even an RT/R2 + stick does not go that high), it makes for some poor gameplay. And why should my skater with green energy suddenly lose speed, acceleration, and agility? I'm fine with the loss of stamina, but the hit you take to basic stats that should NOT change is ridiculous.

The fact that even if your goalie freezes the puck during full pressure, you still are under full pressure AND you don't really regain energy is a huge problem in World of Chel. Again, we do not have line changes for fresh players. You didn't think about that at all. There just aren't good ways to recover from full pressure that ARE possible in a 1v1 game. Your skater becomes almost useless.

You're going to have to introduce line changes to WOC if you're planning on keeping this pressure stuff. Simple as that.

Oh, and nerf hip checks while you're at it please. They're absolutely absurd right now.

    Hey there, @JohnMcClaneTW

Thanks for the constructive feedback. It's most definitely appreciated. I agree it would be good to see dumping the puck get a bit of a boost. The team is keeping an eye on this. In the meantime, I've found more success with slapping the puck out (when on the PK of course) and just shooting it out. Obviously, if there's an open lane to dump it off the glass, that's always a good option.

The pressure system is a brand new mechanic that we're also monitoring. We need to give it some time to see if people adapt. However, it's entirely possible changes could be made.

The dump out of the zone has also been reduced in power, you used to be able to lob the puck almost the length of the ice and not, it does not even clear the zone. The game feels like the sliders are all wrong. I have been playing these NHL games since 1992.

  • @JohnMcClaneTW The pressure system shouldn't effect attributes. Stamina is fine but making it impossible to play D isn't fair or constructive to competitive gameplay.

The full pressure should be relieved once the puck crosses center ice if the puck is loose. If we get the puck out by carrying the puck it should go away once crossing our blueline. Why is it impossible for me to transition up ice after getting possession and killing the pressure.

It also needs to take longer to get the meter full. 2 shots and it's full is to quick. It needs to be SUSTAINED possession and pressure.

Goalies covering the puck should also decrease the meter a good bit.

@SilentAssassn25I agree completely with everything you said. We shouldn't be skating in mud - especially when energy is still in the green - just because the full pressure is activated.

I'm telling you man - if it's here to say we need line changes so we can get fresh skaters on the ice. Maybe just have guys choose two builds (must be different builds) and you can flip flop between them as a line change.

Goalies covering the puck for a whistle, or any stoppage in play that isn't an icing for that matter, should put the pressure meter back down to 0.

There are no line changes in Chel 6v6 but that's how you relieve pressure in real Hockey, it should work the same way.

@de4c0nfr05t I love the idea... but hate the execution. Same with the customization suite.... I love having the option for different visors and what not for home/away/alt.... even different cellys is cool but HOLY is it convoluted and cumbersome. Especially having to reset your name, number, skating and shooting style plus the other stuff
