Agreed. Simply holding RT and flipping up for shoot should result in a hard chip off the glass, out of the zone but not down the full length of the ice.
Puck possessions in the D-Zone under pressure are all super quick. A real life player will instinctively know just how much power to put on their chip shot and they don't have to 'charge' it up.
