Re: FIX THE R3 Button Already

@hiperay Oh I have adapted to the new controls as well and much like them. Sure I'm not a fan of hipcheck being just a button hold but it is what it is. Lots of times people just don't want to accept changes that they feel aren't making things better in their eyes.

    I got used to new control system but I still prefer the old system, the only thing I actually like is the reverse hitting, I think I get more reverse hits than regular hits ,especially when you get all these little Mary's running around hitting with this total control system

    @KlariskraysNHL Ok so you dont see how bad this new game and controls is ? Is this a joke ? People are leaving this game and what will happen is that those who still play will have less People to play against and Ea will loose money

    I understand there is a lot of pushback over that but the new hitting controls needed to happen; creating a skill gap is important and will only help thr game going forward.

    Completely contradictory to what I just said but hipchecks getting repositioned back to R3 (which I fully admit to suggesting for years) was a good thing - the old controls were major bumcheeks and unresponsive. That's on EA for creating way too many controls with so few buttons. Now, I will fully agree they should have balanced hipchecks (closer to what they're at now but could have gone further) before adding it to the game.

    Show of hands, how many people here *actually* use reverse hitting and stuff on purpose? I miss doing the little leg kicks but most people who are complaining about randomly losing the puck probably need to buy a new controller. (Of course, none of this would be an issu if EA would cave and allow us to remap everything manually).

    @TTZ_Dipsy I use the reverse hit occasionally but it hasn't quite made it into my muscle memory enough that it's a regular part of my game.

    The thing that bothers me is that I'll still occasionally do an unwanted reverse hit when deking the goalie. And I get that's a "skill issue" but in all the years where R3 did the leg-kick fake shot I don't recall ever doing that unintentionally.

    @PlayoffError

    My buddy does it all the time and I have never done it (though I have a super hard time accidentally taking back handers when deking a goalie; probably a crooked thumb or something or maybe there is a distinct difference between last gen and new gen).
    I do believe there is some sort of sensitivity issue though and am scratching my head trying to figure out how their testers didn't say anything about that and things like pressure system before launch. Game seems to be breaking apart more and more each iteration.

    No the hitting controls did not needed to be changed it worked perfect the way it was . I bought my first nhl 96 but this will be the last nhl game i buy . If Ea wants to loose paying costumers just because some people doesnt like real hitting and physical hockey thats up to them

    @PlayoffError I think some people just grip their controllers tighter than others. I have a friend I play CoD with and this dude is CONSTANTLY accidentally melee-ing the air whenever he gets into a tense gunfight. It's quite funny.

    He is probably the type of person that would accidentally reverse-hit or what have you in NHL. For me? I very rarely press in the RS by accident.

    I was thinking about it and maybe it's a platform/controller thing. Are Xbox controllers more prone to this issue? I play on PS5 so I only have that for reference.

    @NeonSkyline21 I like to consider myself a finesse controller handler. So I have a gentle type touch to the sticks even in pressure situations. I have some gaming friends where I can hear their button inputs which is crazy to me.
