Re: Reverse Hitting without the X factor

This is definitely a "real life skill" that should be removed from the game. It was a cool idea, we tried it, we saw the results, the results arent good. You cant "read" an instant button press that will cancel out your hit. Especially when the checkers has to have the movementum and commit to the hit which allows the offensive player to actually have a movement/queue for their "twitch skills" to react too.

It quite simply doesnt adhere to the laws of physics, its overused, it doesnt help achieve a better sense of the sport in-game, it's just not a good feature in practice. Id much rather see a "brace" button to mitigate huge hits rathert than a reverse check that leads to a lot of weird/bad looking results. The reverse check is exponentially more of a "get out of jail free card" than flip dumps ever were. At least flip dumps should result in possession changes.

Oh absolutely. Last year, reverse hitting was almost entirely done by using the X factor. This year however, I’ve not seen any players using that X Factor. I really wish EA a look at this and adjust it. A 5’10 180 pounds sniper shouldn’t be reverse hitting an open ice check against a DD that has 40+ pounds on him.
