I agree this is absolutely an issue of defensive positioning. If you were to watch LG games, there are rarely ever cross crease attempts, because they aren't available. Good defenseman understand that a cross crease pass is an extremely high percentage chance, in real life and the game, and take this opportunity away.
in the event that a pass makes it through, there is nothing unrealistic about using one hand to tap the puck in.

If something happens a few times within 1,000 NHL games and its done to score goals.. EA will ensure this is a fairly easy thing to do in the game.
If this is something that even happens SEVERAL times in EVERY NHL game and it helps the defense prevent goals.. we will need to nerf its effectiveness and put restrictions on it, and increase the chance of penalty, AND slow the defenseman down so he is unable to make multiple attempts to stop the play.
EA games! If it's in the game, RNG will decide if it will be in YOUR game.
